January 5th, 2026  – January 19th, 2026

During this reporting period, MPS issued:

  • One By-Law ticket for Unregistered Vehicle Parked on City Streets which carries a fine of $100
  • Two By-Law tickets for Parking in Loading Zone which carries a fine of $100
  • One Written Warning for Speeding
  • One By-Law Written Warning for Parked when Prohibited during Snow Clearing

January 5th, 2026

Police and Fire were dispatched to a local apartment building for a report of smoke and possibly a fire in an apartment. Police attended and assisted firefighters gain access to the suite after a resident was found intoxicated and uncooperative with emergency workers. The suspect was known to police to be on release conditions and was arrested for Failing to Comply with an Undertaking, lodged in cells until sober, and released on an Appearance Notice to attend Morden Provincial Court in March.

January 6th, 2026

While on general patrol, police conducted a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle. While speaking with the occupants, police observed unstamped illegal tobacco. A further search by police found the passenger to be in possession of a weapon and cocaine. A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of several items believed to be used for trafficking. A 47-year-old male from Morden was arrested for Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Proceeds of Crime, and Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose. He was released on an Undertaking to attend Morden Provincial Court in March. A 33-year-old female from Morden was arrested for Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Proceeds of Crime, and was released on an Undertaking to attend Morden Provincial Court in March.

January 7th, 2026

Police were dispatched to a local business for a report of a break and enter. Police learned that over night a suspect broke into the business and stole multiple items. Video surveillance captured images of the suspect, and police are continuing their investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call MPS.

At 12pm, police received a report of a storage unit that was broken into and had several items stolen sometime throughout the night. Police are continuing their investigation.

January 11th, 2026

While on general patrol, police conducted a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle. While speaking with the occupants, police observed unstamped illegal tobacco. A further search by police found the passenger to be in possession of methamphetamine as well as other items believed to be for the purpose of trafficking. A 49-year-old male from Morden was arrested for Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and released on an Undertaking to attend Morden Provincial Court in March.

At 9:50pm, police conducted a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle. The driver was found to be in possession of a substance believed to be methamphetamine and was arrested. Police also located a long rifle pellet gun within the vehicle, which was seized. Later that evening, the Regional Tactical Team conducted a search warrant on the suspect’s residence where police seized several items including stolen property. A 38-year-old female of Morden was arrested for Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose and Possession of Controlled Substance. She was later released on an Undertaking to attend Morden Provincial Court in March.

January 18th, 2026

At 1:30am, police were dispatched to a local business for a report of an intoxicated female causing a disturbance. Police located a 24-year-old female and arrested her under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act. She was lodged in cells and released without charges once sober.
