September 21st, 2026 – October 5th, 2026

During this reporting period, MPS issued:

  • Five tickets for Speeding
  • One ticket for Drive a Motor Vehicle without wearing a Seatbelt which carries a fine of $298
  • Five tickets for Drive an Unregistered Vehicle which carries a fine of $298
  • One ticket for Disobey Traffic Control Device namely Stop Sign which carries a fine of $203
  • One ticket for Drive without a Driver’s Licence which carries a fine of $298
  • One ticket for Trespass which carries a fine of $672
  • Two By-Law tickets for Park Contrary to Signage which carries a fine of $100

September 22nd, 2026

At 1:55 pm, police were dispatched to the intersection of 5th street and Wardrop for a report of a vehicle collision. Police arrived on scene and found the subject vehicle had hit 3 parked cars, all vehicle owners had been notified and all information was exchanged. Police cleared.

September 23rd, 2026

At 1:30 pm, police received a report of an assault. Police took the statement and the 80-year-old male was arrested for assault. He was released on an Undertaking to attend Morden Provincial Court in December.

September 25th, 2026

At 2:00 pm, police received a report of a theft from a local business. Police arrived on scene and reviewed the security footage and identified a 75-year-old female who was responsible for the theft. At the request of the business, the female was issued a banning notice and police cleared.

September 26th, 2026

While on general patrol, police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle. While speaking with the vehicle driver police observed open liquor bottles at the drivers’ feet. Police made a demand for the driver to provide a sample of their breath on the Roadside Screening device which resulted in a fail reading.  The driver was issued a 90-day driving suspension and a 30-day impoundment of the vehicle along with a $700 administrative penalty. 

September 28th, 2026

Police received a call from a female advising that she was assaulted by a male while standing outside her apartment complex.  She advised that the two got into an argument which resulted in the male hitting her.  The male was arrested for Assault and released on an Undertaking for court in January.

September 29th, 2026

Police were dispatched to a local business regarding a male who was unconscious and lying on the grass in front of the business.  Police attended and administered Narcan to the male who subsequently started breathing normally.  EMS attended and transported the male to the hospital for an assessment.

At 6:20 pm, police were dispatched to a local business regarding an intoxicated male who was looking in the windows of the business.  Police attended and located a 32-year-old male, he was arrested under the Protective Detention and Care of Intoxicated Persons Act and lodged in cells. He was released once sober without charges.

At 11:20 pm, police were dispatched to a fight at a local business.  Police attended and located a male who was yelling and heavily intoxicated. The other male had left the area before police arrive.  The 23-year-old male was arrested under the Protective Detention and Care of Intoxicated Persons Act and lodged in cells. He was released once sober without charges.

September 30th, 2026

At 1:45 am, police were dispatched to a local business regarding a female causing a disturbance.  Police attended and observed a large amount of black ink on the floor and a female sitting on the floor covered in ink. There was also a smashed computer printer sitting the hallway.  The female was intoxicated and arrested for Mischief.  She was released once sober on an Undertaking to attend court in December.

October 1st, 2026

Police were dispatched to a residence regarding an assault.  Police attended the residence and spoke to the caller who advised that their partner assaulted them and then left the residence.  The suspect was located by police, arrested for assault and released on an Undertaking to attend court in January.

October 3rd, 2026

Police were dispatched to a residence regarding a male and female fighting.  Police attended and located the male who was highly intoxicated and the female who made no disclosures of assault.  The male was arrested under the Protective Detention and Care of Intoxicated Persons Act and lodged in cells.  Police spoke to the female again and she advised that the male had shoved her during their argument.  The male was charged with Assault and released on an Undertaking for court in January.
