June 7th, 2026 – June 20th, 2026

During this reporting period, MPS issued:

  • One ticket for As a Driver in the Learner’s Stage, Drive without a Supervising Driver which carries a fine of $203
  • One ticket for Speeding travelling 103 km/hr in a 50 km/hr zone which carries a fine of $744.  The driver was also issued a Serious Offence Notice

April 7th, 2026

Police received a report of a hit and run to a vehicle that occurred on April 2nd while parked in a parking lot at 945 Thornhill Street in Morden.  The driver parked their 2012 red Ford Focus and returned to find damage to the right rear fender. 

Police received a warrant of arrest for 32-year-old Cora Renae Thiessen for failing to attend Morden Provincial Court on April 7th, 2026.  She also failed to attend to the Morden Police Service for the Identification of Criminals on the same date.

April 13th, 2026

At 5:30 pm, police were dispatched to the intersection of 12th Street and Thornhill Street for a motor vehicle accident.  A grey Honda HRV was travelling east bound on Thornhill Street when a green GMC Sonoma attempting to turn south bound onto 12th Street collided with the Honda.  The grey Honda then bumped into a GMC Sierra stopped at the stop sign on 12th Street.  Morden Fire and EMS attended the scene.  Police made a demand for one of the drivers to provide a sample of their breath on the Roadside Screening device which resulted in a fail reading.  The driver was issued a 90-day driving suspension and a 30-day impoundment of the vehicle along with a $700 administrative penalty. 

April 14th, 2026

Police received a report of a fraud where the caller received text messages from a number stating it was his bank advising that he needed to change his banking password.  Once the caller changed his password someone took money out of his account.

April 15th, 2026

At 5:15 am, police were dispatched to a local establishment for an intoxicated female causing a disturbance. Police arrived and arrested the 32-year-old female under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act. She was lodged in cells until sober and released without charges.

April 16th, 2026

Police received a report of a hit and run to a vehicle that occurred between April 14th and 15th while parked on the 500 block of Stephen Street.  The driver parked their 2013 yellow Ford F150 and returned to find damage to the driver’s side rear fender. 

April 17th, 2026

Police received a report of a male had been looking through vehicles at a local business on April 12th.  Police attended and observed the male who was known to police take some money from the vehicles.   Police served a banning notice on the male suspect who is no longer allowed to attend this property.
