During this reporting period, MPS issued:

  • One ticket for Drive an Unregistered Vehicle which carries a fine of $298

April 20th, 2026

At 4:30 am, police received a call requesting police assistance with a female who was threatening to harm herself.  Police attended and spoke to the female who was subsequently transported to a healthcare facility for an assessment.

Police were dispatched to a residence regarding a couple arguing and items being broken in the home.  Police received an update that the male was intoxicated and had left driving a vehicle.  The female advised that they had been arguing but no assaults had taken place.  The male was located in his vehicle in the ditch just outside of Morden.  Police made a demand for the male driver to provide a sample of their breath on the Roadside Screening device which resulted in a fail reading.  The driver was issued a 90-day driving suspension and a 30-day impoundment of the vehicle along with a $700 administrative penalty.  He was also arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and released the next day once sober.

April 22nd, 2026

Police were dispatched to a residence regarding a female who was threatening to harm herself.  Police attended and spoke to the female who was to be intoxicated to attend the hospital for an assessment.  She was arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and lodged in cells.  She was taken for an assessment when sober.

At 5:55 pm, police were dispatched to the area of Victoria Street and Highway 3 regarding a female walking in traffic swinging a bottle.  Police attended the area and located the female who was visibly intoxicated.  The 24-year-old female was arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and lodged in cells until sober.   She was released without charges.

April 24th, 2026

At 7:30 pm, police were dispatched to a local business regarding an intoxicated male who was bothering customers.  Police attended and located the male who was highly intoxicated.  The 52-year-old male was arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and lodged in cells until sober.   He was released without charges.

April 26th, 2026

While on general patrol, police observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed.  Police conducted a traffic stop and subsequent checks revealed that the driver was suspended and he was on condition to have no contact with the passenger.  The driver was arrested and charged with Failing to Comply with his Undertaking and released on an Appearance Notice to attend to Morden Provincial Court in July.  His vehicle was also seized for 30 days, and he was issued a ticket for Drive while Disqualified which carries a fine of $672.

At 3:55 pm, police were dispatched to a residence requesting assistance with a female who was threatening to harm herself.  Police and EMS attended and spoke to the female who was subsequently transported to a healthcare facility for an assessment.

April 27th, 2026

At 10:37 pm, police were dispatched to a business regarding two males fighting.  Police attended and observed two males screaming at each other and both males had blood on them.  Both males were highly intoxicated and aggressive towards one another. The 31-year-old and 34-year-old males were arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and lodged in cells until sober.   They were released without charges.
