April 24th, 2023 – May 1st, 2023

During this reporting period, MPS issued:

  • Two tickets for Drive While Disqualified which carries a fine of $672 and a 30-day vehicle impound
  • One ticket for Parking in a No Parking Zone which carries a fine of $150
  • One ticket for Drive Unregistered which carries a fine of $298

April 24th, 2023

Police received a report of a mischief to a vehicle. The caller advised that the back window was smashed, and someone attempted to break another window while his vehicle was parked at a hotel parking lot. Police are continuing their investigation.

Police received a report of a hit and run that happened at 6:00 pm while parked on Rose Street. The driver parked his 2006 Toyota and returned to find damage to the rear driver’s side door.

A report came into the station of a hit and run that happened on April 18th at 7:50 pm in a local business parking lot. The owner parked her 2023 Chevrolet Traverse and returned to find extensive damage to the left side of the car.

April 25th, 2023

At 2:00 pm police received a report of a bike stolen from a local business. After looking over the video surveillance that was provided police were able to locate the bike and return it to the owner.

At 10:00 pm, police received a request to assist EMS with a female who overdosed and needed to be assessed at the hospital.  Police attended and assisted EMS with transporting the patient to the hospital.

April 26th, 2023

While on general patrol police conducted a traffic stop and found the driver to be on an Undertaking to not possess a cellular phone. The subsequent investigation revealed a quantity of illegal substances in the car. The 46-year-old female was arrested for Fail to Comply with Undertaking and Possession of Crystal Methamphetamine, she was released on an Undertaking to attend to Morden Provincial Court in July.

Police were dispatched to the corner of Thornhill and 1st street in Morden for a motor vehicle colliding with a bicycle. Police arrived on scene and no injuries were reported, information exchanged and police cleared the scene.

April 28th, 2023

Police received a report of a hit and run that happened sometime between March 17th –18th 2023 at a local business. The owner parked her car and returned to find key scratch marks on the side of the vehicle.

April 30th, 2023

Police were dispatched to a residence regarding an intoxicated female causing a disturbance. After checks were completed, it was determined the female had a Warrant for Arrest. The 47-year-old female was arrested on the strength of the Warrant and was released on an Appearance Notice to attend Morden Provincial Court in September.

Police received a call of an intoxicated male riding a bike dangerously. The 29-year-old male was located and found to be intoxicated and arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and lodged into cells until sober. He was released without charges.

At 1:01 pm, police were dispatched to a local business for an intoxicated male. Police arrived to find a 29-year-old male highly intoxicated, he was arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and lodged into cells until sober. He was released without charges.
