During this reporting period, MPS issued:
- One ticket for Speeding (101 km/hr in a 70 km/hr zone) which carries a fine of $456
- One ticket for Use a Cellular Telephone or other Handheld Device while Operating a Motor Vehicle which carries a fine of $672 and a three-day license suspension.
April 3rd, 2023
Police received a report of a hit and run to a vehicle that occurred on March 24th between the hours of 8:30 am and 2:30 pm while parked on Academy Drive. The driver parked their red 2011 Dodge Caliber and returned to find damage to the passenger side of the vehicle.
April 8th, 2023
Police received a report of a break enter and theft to storage units at an apartment complex. These units were broken into again on April 10th. Police are continuing their investigation.
April 9th, 2023
While on general patrol, police conducted a traffic stop and observed an odor of liquor coming from the driver. Police made a demand for the driver to provide a sample of their breath on the Roadside Screening device which resulted in a fail reading. The driver was issued a 90-day driving suspension and a 30-day impoundment of the vehicle along with a $700 administrative penalty.
