During this reporting period, MPS issued:
- Three tickets for Speeding
- Two tickets for Drive an Unregistered Vehicle which carries a fine of $298
August 11th, 2025
Police were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of 5th Street and Thornhill Street. A grey Subaru Forester was turning north bound onto 5th Street from Thornhill Street when it collided with a grey Honda Civic travelling west bound on Thornhill Street. The driver of the Civic had minor injuries and was treated and cleared by EMS.
Police received a call regarding an assault that occurred earlier in the morning. The caller advised that a female showed up to his residence banging on the door and constantly ringing the doorbell. When the caller opened the door, the female pushed her way into the residence and started throwing items around the entrance way. The caller attempted to remove the female who slapped him and damaged both vehicles on the driveway as she was leaving. The suspect was located and arrested for Assault and two counts of Mischief Over $5000. She was released on an Undertaking.
At 11:00 pm, police observed a male and female together and the male was known to be on conditions to have no contact with the female. He was arrested for Fail to Comply with his Undertaking and released on an Appearance Notice.
August 12th, 2025
Police received a report of a theft of money from a vehicle parked on Cherrywood Lane.
At 2:00 pm, police received a call requesting police assistance with a female who had overdosed on medication. Police attended and spoke to the female who was subsequently transported to a healthcare facility.
Police received a report of a hit and run that occurred in a parking lot at 30 Stephen Street on August 8th around 2:00 pm. The driver advised that he parked his orange 2011 Chevrolet Camaro and returned to find a dent on the back passenger side corner panel.
At 8:50 pm, police received a report of an assault at a local business. Police attended and the victim did not want charges but did want the suspect banned from the premises. Suspect located and advised him that he was banned from the business.
August 13th, 2025
At 8:50 pm, police were dispatched to a residence regarding a female yelling and screaming. The highly intoxicated female came out of her house and was extremely agitated. The 31-year-old female was arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and lodged in cells until sober. She was released without charges.
August 14th, 2025
At 3:10 am, police were dispatched to a residence regarding two females fighting. Police attended and observed one female who was extremely intoxicated and trying to start a fight with another female. She began yelling and screaming and acting belligerently towards the police. The 31-year-old female was arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and lodged in cells until sober. She was released without charges.
August 16th, 2025
At 9:15 pm, police were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of 12th Street and Thornhill Street. A black Chevrolet Equinox was travelling north bound on 12th Street and failed to stop at the stop sign colliding with a black Jeep Grand Cherokee travelling west bound on Thornhill Street. The Equinox ended up flipped on its roof and the driver was transported to Boundary Trails Hospital for minor injuries. Police are continuing their investigation.
