During this reporting period, MPS issued:
- One ticket for Drive an Unregistered Vehicle which carries a fine of $298
- One ticket for Speeding (127 km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone) which carries a fine of $403
- One ticket for Speeding (126 km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone) which carries a fine of $391
- One ticket for Speeding (136 km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone) which carries a fine of $521
- One ticket for Speeding (79 km/hr in a 50 km/hr zone) which carries a fine of $429
- One ticket for Disobey Traffic Control Device namely Stop Sign which carries a fine of $203
- Three tickets for Fail to Wear a Seatbelt while Operating a Motor Vehicle which carries a fine of $298
August 15th, 2023
At 3:15 am, police were dispatched to a residence regarding a shed fire. Police arrived on scene along with Morden Fire and Rescue and observed the shed was destroyed along with some trees and shrubs. The fire was extinguished, and no one was harmed.
Police received a report of a possible impaired driver heading towards Morden from Winkler. Police located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop and observed the driver to have slurred speech and bloodshot eyes. Police made a demand for the driver to provide a sample of their breath on the Roadside Screening device which resulted in a fail reading. The driver was issued a 90 day driving suspension and a 30 day impoundment of the vehicle along with a $700 administrative penalty
August 16th, 2023
Received an endorsed warrant for a male youth for Failing to Comply with his Probation Order. On August 20th the youth was arrested on the strength of this warrant and released on an Appearance Notice to attend court in November.
August 17th, 2023
At 7:35 pm, police were dispatched to a residence regarding a male who was threatening to harm himself. Police and EMS attended, and the male was subsequently transported to a healthcare facility for an assessment.
August 18th, 2023
At 3:00 am, police were dispatched to a residence regarding an assault. Police attended and spoke to the victim who advised that her mother was intoxicated and started pushing and hitting the caller. The 45 year old Morden resident was arrested for Assault and released on an Undertaking to attend to Morden court in November.
August 19th, 2023
Police received a report of a Mischief at Milne Park. Police attended the park and observed several road signs had been removed and one was missing. Police are continuing their investigation.
August 20th, 2023
Police received a report of Mischief to a residence on South Railway Street. The caller advised that someone entered their property and broke a shed door and other items. Police are continuing their investigation.
