During this reporting period, MPS issued:
- One ticket for As holder of class 1F – 5F Licence less than one year since probation has alcohol in his blood while operating a vehicle which carries a fine of $113
- One ticket for Drive Without Valid Driver’s Licence which carries a fine of $298
- Ten tickets for Speeding
- One By-Law ticket for Parked in Disabled Parking which carries a fine of $100
August 17th, 2026
At 10:20 pm, police were dispatched to a residence regarding an intoxicated female who was causing a disturbance. Police attended and arrested the 56-year-old female under the Protective Detention and Care of Intoxicated Persons Act. She was released from cells once sober without charges.
August 18th, 2026
While on general patrol, police conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle that failed to stop at a stop sign. Police could smell a strong odor of liquor coming from the vehicle and observed open liquor in the back seat. Police made a demand for the driver to provide a sample of their breath on the Roadside Screening Device which resulted in a fail reading. The driver was issued a 90 day driving suspension and a 30 day impoundment of the vehicle along with a $700 administrative penalty.
Police were dispatched to a local business regarding a male who needed police assistance. Police attended and observed a male who was highly intoxicated and unable to stand on his own. Police arrested the 27-year-old male under the Protective Detention and Care of Intoxicated Persons Act. He was released from cells once sober without charges.
August 21st, 2026
At 10:15 pm, police were dispatched to a residence regarding an unconscious and unresponsive male. Police administered Narcan to the male and EMS transported him to the hospital.
Police received a report of a hit and run to a vehicle that occurred while parked in a parking lot at the corner of Mountain and Thornhill Street in Morden. The driver parked his 2020 white BMW car and returned to find damage on the right front fender.
August 22nd, 2026
While on general patrol police observed a motorcycle that did not have a licence plate displayed. Police began to pull out from the median and towards the motorcycle when it immediately accelerated. Police attempted to close the distance but the motorcycle continued to accelerate at a high rate of speed and rapidly gained distance from police. Due to the risk of injury to the public and driver, police did not activate emergency lights and police slowed down. Police continued patrolling the last known direction of the motorcycle and were flagged by pedestrians towards a public walkway. The motorcycle was located off the road along a tree line and the driver was observed beside the vehicle. The driver was arrested and brought to the Morden Police station where he was charged with Dangerous Operation of a conveyance and released on an Appearance Notice for court in November. He was also issued a ticket for Operate a Vehicle with Number Plate Obscured, Drive a Vehicle without Motor Vehicle Liability and Drive an Unregistered Vehicle. He was additionally served a Serious Offence Notice for driver’s licence review.
