During this reporting period, MPS issued:
- Five tickets for Speeding
- One ticket for Drive Without a Valid Driver’s Licence which carries a fine of $298
- Two By-Law tickets for Parking a Vehicle on a Parade Route which carries a fine of $100
August 18th, 2025
Police were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of 19th Street and Thornhill Street. A grey Toyota Corolla was stopped on Thornhill Street waiting to turn left onto 19th Street when it was rear ended by a grey Chevrolet Cruz. No one required medical treatment and both vehicles were towed from the scene.
August 20th, 2025
At 4:00 am, police were dispatched to a local business regarding a male banging on doors and smashing things outside the building. Police received several calls throughout the early morning regarding the same male causing mischief at different businesses. The male was located by police and arrested for Mischief. The businesses declined charges but did want the male banned from their business. Police served the banning notices and released the male.
August 21st, 2025
At 6:00 am, police were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of 1st Street and Thornhill Street. A green Honda Accord was travelling on Thornhill Street when it turned in front of a white GMC Sierra causing the Sierra to hit the vehicle and push it into a red Dodge Ram. The driver of the Honda Accord was transported to Boundary Trails hospital for further medical examination.
August 22nd, 2025
Police received a report of a theft of a motor vehicle from Loren Drive. The caller advised that his vehicle was taken sometime overnight. The vehicle was located a few hours later at a different location in the City. Police are continuing their investigation.
At 1:30 pm, police received a report of mischief to a vehicle. The caller advised that sometime overnight someone ripped out and cut wires from the steering column of his vehicle.
Police received a report of a theft of a wallet from the Corn and Apple festival. The caller advised that his daughter left her bag unattended to go on a ride and when she returned the bag was missing. The bag was later located but her wallet was gone.
At 11:40 pm, police were conducting a walk through at a local establishment when a female patron advised them that she was being harassed by a male. Police located the male and advised him he needed to leave but he refused and became aggressive with police. The 33-year-old male was arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and lodged in cells until sober. He was released without charges.
August 23rd, 2025
At 1:08 am, police were dispatched to a residence regarding a male who was intoxicated and causing a disturbance. Police attended and located the male who was intoxicated and arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act. He was lodged in cells until sober and released without charges.
August 25th, 2025
At 2:40 am, police received a call requesting police assistance with a male who was threatening to harm himself. Police attended and spoke to the male who was subsequently transported to a healthcare facility for an assessment.
