During this reporting period, MPS issued:

  • One ticket issued for Disorderly Conduct which carries a fine of $672.

August 22nd, 2022

At 4:20 pm, police were dispatched to a local business regarding a male yelling at some kids.  Police attended and cautioned the suspect on his behavior.

August 23rd, 2022

While on general patrol, police conducted a traffic stop and detected an odor of liquor coming from the driver.  Police made a demand for the driver to provide a sample of their breath on the Roadside Screening device which resulted in a warn reading.  The driver was issued a 72-hour driving suspension and a 3-day impoundment of the vehicle along with a $400 administrative penalty. 

Police received a report of a theft of a bike from a residence in the 400 block of 4th Street.  The caller advised that her purple and blue Algonquin Movelo mountain bike was stolen a few days ago.

Police received a warrant of arrest for 34-year-old Harry Dave Harold VOICEY for failing to attend Morden Provincial Court on August 23rd, 2022.

At 4:10 pm, police were dispatched to a local business regarding a male who was causing a disturbance.  The male was yelling and throwing things inside the business.   Police located the male and advised him that he is not allowed back at the business.

August 26th, 2022

Police received a call reporting a fight between a male and a female. The victim had been slapped in the face and then cut with a knife. Police arrived on scene and the suspect had fled the scene. The Suspect was located, arrested and charged with Assault Cause Bodily Harm. He was remanded into Custody.

Police were dispatched to 8th and Stephen Street to a female who required medical assistance. EMS was called and transported her to the Boundary Trails Health Centre.

While on patrol officers observed a male who was being asked to leave a private property. The 28-year-old male was quite intoxicated and was arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and lodged into cells until sober.

While on general patrol police observed a 23-year-old male causing damage to tables. When police approached the male, he fled the scene and police continued after him. After a short foot pursuit, he was arrested for Mischief and Intoxicated Persons Detention Act. The male was released when he became sober.

August 27th, 2022

Police received a call regarding an intoxicated female at the 300th block of North Railway. When the police arrived she became argumentative, yelling and swearing. Police arrested the 26-year-old female under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and released when sober.

Police received a report of a youth throwing beer bottles at people at 8th and Stephen Street. Officers attended and found the suspect youth, who was also known to be on conditions. The youth was arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and Fail to comply with Undertaking. He was released on an Appearance Notice to attend court in November.

Police were dispatched to the 300 block of 6th Street due to a noise complaint. When officers arrived on scene they found a male known to be on conditions. The Male was advised he was breaching his condition to not consume alcohol. He was arrested for failing to comply with undertaking and released on an Appearance Notice to attend Morden Provincial Court in November.

August 28th, 2022

While on general patrol police observed a male known to be on a curfew condition walking out past curfew. 31-year-old male was arrested for Breaching Undertaking and released on an Appearance Notice to attend Morden Provincial Court in November.

Police received a call requesting members to attend the 300 block of North Railway for an intoxicated male. The 51-year-old male was intoxicated and was arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and released without charges when sober.

Police were dispatched to the 3000 block of Thornhill Street to remove intoxicated people from the address. When police arrived an 18-year-old was arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and released when he became sober.

August 29st, 2022

Police received a call to request officers attend Red Oak Lane to remove an intoxicated person from the residence. Police attended and observed the female to be quite intoxicated. The 24-year-old female was arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and released once sober without charges.
