During this reporting period, MPS issued:

  • Three tickets for Drive an Unregistered Vehicle which carries a fine of $298
  • One ticket for Speeding (132 km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone) which carries a fine of $469
  • One ticket for Speeding (141 km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone) which carries a fine of $586
  • One ticket for Speeding (143km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone) which carries a fine of $613
  • One ticket for Speeding (130 km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone) which carries a fine of $442
  • One ticket for Speeding (130 km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone) which carries a fine of $442
  • One ticket for Speeding (128 km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone) which carries a fine of $416
  • Four tickets for Use a Cellular Telephone or other Handheld Device while Operating a Motor Vehicle which carries a fine of $672 and a three-day license suspension
  • One ticket for Driving while Disqualified which carries a fine of $672
  • Eight tickets for failing to wear a Seatbelt which carries a fine of $298
  • One ticket for failing to Signal a turn which carries a fine of $143
  • One ticket for misuse of license plate which carries a fine of $113

August 28th, 2023

Police received a report of a hit and run to a vehicle that occurred over the previous weekend while parked on 6th Street in Morden. The owner parked their 2011 Honda Accord and returned to find damage to the driver-side door.

Police received a report of an assault that occurred the night previous at a local licensed establishment. Police spoke to the victim who confirmed she was assaulted and wished to proceed with formal charges. A 26-year-old Winkler resident was arrested for assault and released on an Undertaking to attend Morden Provincial Court in November.

August 29th, 2023

Police were dispatched to a local business regarding an intoxicated male causing a disturbance. A 30-year-old male was subsequently arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act, lodged in police cells until sober, and later released without charges.

August 30th, 2023

At 2:45am, police were received a report of an intoxicated female who was causing a disturbance and yelling near a residence. A 29-year-old female was subsequently arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act, lodged in police cells until sober, and later released without charges.

September 1st, 2023

At 7:05pm, while on general patrol police observed a male at a local park who was known to officers and believed to be breaching an order by attending a public park. A 30-year-old male was arrested for failing to comply with a prohibition order and remanded into custody to appear in Winnipeg Provincial Court in September.

September 2nd, 2023

Police conducted a traffic stop and observed open liquor in the back seat of the vehicle. Police made a demand for the driver to provide a sample of their breath on the Roadside Screening Device which resulted in a “warn” reading. The driver was issued a 72-hour driving suspension and a 3-day vehicle impoundment along with a $400 administration penalty.
