During this reporting period, MPS issued:

  • One ticket for Drive an Unregistered Vehicle which carries a fine of $298
  • One ticket for Speeding (124 km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone) which carries a fine of $364
  • One ticket for Speeding (140 km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone) which carries a fine of $573
  • One ticket for Speeding (135 km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone) which carries a fine of $508
  • One ticket for Speeding (136 km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone) which carries a fine of $521
  • One ticket for Speeding (74 km/hr in a 50 km/hr zone) which carries a fine of $364
  • Two tickets for Fail to Display the Correct Number and Type of Number Plate which carries a fine of $113
  • Two tickets for Unlawful Transportation of Liquor in a Motor Vehicle which carries a fine of $237
  • One ticket for Possession of Liquor by a Minor which carries a fine of $672
  • One ticket for Drive without a Valid Driver’s Licence which carries a fine of $298
  • Two tickets for Drive Imprudently which carries a fine of $203
  • Four tickets for Fail to Wear a Seatbelt while Operating a Motor Vehicle which carries a fine of $298

August 9th, 2023

Police received a report of a hit and run to a vehicle that occurred on August 4th while parked on Stephen Streetin Morden.  The driver parked his 2017 black Dodge Grand Caravan and returned to find damage on the front driver’s side fender.

Police received a report of a stolen vehicle.  The caller advised that his 1992 grey Chevrolet pickup was parked on the street in the 100 block of 12th Street over the weekend.  When he returned home the vehicle was gone.  Police are continuing their investigation.

August 10th, 2023

At 8:30 pm, while on general patrol, police conducted a traffic stop on an unregistered vehicle.  Police spoke to the driver of the vehicle and detected an odor of liquor coming from her breath.  Police made a demand for the driver to provide a sample of their breath on the Roadside Screening device which resulted in a reading.  The driver was known to be on conditions to not consume alcohol and was arrested for Failing to Comply with her Undertaking.  She was released on an Appearance Notice to attend court in October.  She was also given tickets for Drive without a Valid Driver’s Licence which carries a fine of $298, Drive an Unregistered Vehicle which carries a fine of $298 and Display a Number Plate that does not match Registration Card which carries a fine of $113.

August 11th, 2023

At 10:10 pm, police were on general patrol when they observed two vehicles racing in front of them.  Police stopped both vehicles and issued the driver’s a ticket for Race with another Motor Vehicle which carries a fine of $672.  Both drivers also received a Motor Vehicle Seizure, a Drivers Licence Suspension and were served a Serious Offence Notice.

At 10:55 pm, police were on general patrol when they observed two vehicles racing in front of them.  Police stopped both vehicles and issued the driver’s a ticket for Race with another Motor Vehicle which carries a fine of $672.  Both drivers also received a Motor Vehicle Seizure, a Drivers Licence Suspension and were served a Serious Offence Notice.

At 11:50 pm, police conducted a traffic stop and observed an odor of liquor coming from the vehicle.  Police also observed several cans of liquor in the back of the vehicle along with two passengers.  One passenger was issued a ticket for Unlawful Transportation of Liquor in Motor Vehicle which carries a fine of $237.  A second passenger was arrested under the Intoxicated Person’s Detention Act and lodged in cells until sober.

August 12th, 2023

At 2:20 am, police were dispatched to a local hotel regarding a male and female fighting in the lobby.  Police attended and spoke to both parties and the female advised that the male had choked her.  The 48 year old Carman resident was arrested for Assault and released on an Undertaking to attend to Morden Provincial Court in October.

Police received a report of a theft from a local business.  The caller advised that the suspect drove off with items that had been left outside the business.  Police are continuing their investigation.

August 13th, 2023

Police received a report of a theft from a motor vehicle that was parked on the 600 block of Gilmour Street.  Police are continuing their investigation.
