During this reporting period, MPS:

  • Conducted 2 compliance checks for travelers who were under a Mandatory Isolation Order.

During this reporting period, MPS issued:

  • One ticket for Speeding (123 km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone) which carries a fine of $351
  • One ticket for Speeding (50 km/hr in a 30 km/hr zone) which carries a fine of $312
  • One ticket for Speeding (94 km/hr in a 70 km/hr zone) which carries a fine of $364
  • One ticket for Speeding (96 km/hr in a 70 km/hr zone) which carries a fine of $391
  • Two tickets for Speeding (78 km/hr in a 50 km/hr zone) which carries a fine of $416
  • One ticket for Speeding (102 km/hr in a 70 km/hr zone) which carries a fine of $469
  • One ticket for Speeding (100 km/hr in a 70 km/hr zone) which carries a fine of $442
  • One ticket for Disobey Traffic Control Device namely red light which carries a fine of $203
  • One ticket for Drive While Disqualified which carries a fine of $672 and a 30-day vehicle impound
  • Five tickets for Drive an Unregistered Vehicle which carries a fine of $298
  • One ticket for As Holder of a Class 1A – 5A Licence, Drive with no Supervising Driver which carries a fine of $203

December 13th, 2021

Police were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision at the corner of 7th Street and Stephen Street.  The driver of a grey Toyota Corolla was travelling south bound on 7th Street and failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of 7th Street and Stephen Street.  The Corolla collided with a red Ford Escape that was travelling west bound on Stephen Street.  There were no injuries and both vehicles were towed from the scene.

December 14th, 2021

Police received a warrant of arrest for 34 year old Josephine Lorna Keeper for failing to attend Morden Provincial Court on December 14th, 2021.

December 15th, 2021

At 10:00 am, police were dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of 10th Street regarding a break and enter. Police attended and spoke to the homeowner who advised that someone was in their backyard overnight.  Footprints were observed going up to the shed and vehicle but nothing was taken.

At 4:40 pm, police received a report of a young male riding on a quad with no helmet near a school.  Police attended and spoke to the child’s mother who advised she would not allow her child to drive the quad anymore.  No charges were laid as a result of this incident.

December 17th, 2021

At 11:00 am, police received a call regarding a theft of a utility trailer and a large IBC tote.  The caller advised that the trailer lock was cut off.  Police are continuing their investigation.

At 3:30 pm, police received a request to conduct a well being check on an individual who the caller had not see in several days.  Police attended the residence and it was determined that the individual was fine and out of the country for a while.

December 18th, 2021

At 2:45 am, police received a noise complaint in an apartment complex.  Police attended and spoke to the suspect who was intoxicated and belligerent but agreed to keep the noise down.  No charges were laid as a result of this incident.

At 11:10 am, police received a call requesting police assistance with a male who was threatening to harm himself.  Police attended and spoke to the male who was subsequently transported to a healthcare facility for an assessment.

December 19th, 2021

At 12:45 am, police were dispatched to a local business regarding two vehicles revving their engines in the parking lot.  Police attended and spoke with both drivers who were cautioned and agreed to leave.
