At 8:00 am, police were dispatched to a local business regarding a male who was caught looking through vehicles. Police attended and arrested a youth for theft from a motor vehicle and break enter and theft. They were released on an Undertaking to attend Morden Court in February.

December 5th, 2023

Police received a report of a theft from a motor vehicle which occurred sometime in the last couple of days at a residence on South Railway Street. The caller advised that someone took money from inside her vehicle.

December 6th, 2023

Police received a Warrant for Arrest from Probation Services for one count of Fail to Comply with Probation Order.  The 19-year-old male was arrested on this warrant and released on an Appearance Notice to attend to Morden Court in January.

At 12:40 am, police were dispatched to a residence regarding an intoxicated female who was refusing to leave. Police attended and spoke to the female who had no other place to go. She was arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and lodged in cells until sober. She was released without charges. 

At 4:20 pm, police received a report of a male shooting a rifle near a tree line around 1st Street. Police attended and located the male who was target shooting with a pellet gun. City of Morden by law 21BL.05 does not allow for the use of a firearm or other shooting device unless authorized by the City of Morden.

December 7th, 2023

At 12:20 pm, police were dispatched to a residence regarding an intoxicated female who was refusing to leave. Police attended and spoke to the female who had no other place to go. She was arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and lodged in cells until sober. She was released without charges.

December 8th, 2023

Police received a report of a theft from a local business. Police are continuing their investigation.

Police received a report of two vehicles having their gas tanks punctured while parked at a business on South Railway Street on December 7th.  There are no suspects at this time.

December 9th, 2023

While on general patrol, police observed a vehicle with a burnt-out brake light. Police conducted a traffic stop and detected an odor of liquor coming from the driver. Police made a demand for the driver to provide a sample of their breath on the Roadside Screening device which resulted in a fail reading.  The driver was issued a 90-day driving suspension and a 30-day impoundment of the vehicle along with a $700 administrative penalty.

While on general patrol, police observed a vehicle with a burnt-out taillight. Police conducted a traffic stop and observed open liquor in the back seat of the vehicle. Police made a demand for the driver to provide a sample of their breath on the Roadside Screening device which resulted in a fail reading.  The driver was issued a 90-day driving suspension and a 30-day impoundment of the vehicle along with a $700 administrative penalty.
