December 9th, 2024 – December 23rd, 2024

During this reporting period, MPS issued:

  • One ticket for Drive an Unregistered Vehicle which carries a fine of $298
  • One ticket for Disobey a Traffic Control Device namely Stop Sign which carries a fine of $203
  • One ticket for Possess Not Manitoba Marked Tobacco which carries a fine of $2,542
  • Three By-Law tickets for Parked on Street When Prohibited which carries a fine of $150
  • One By-Law ticket for Parked Facing Oncoming Traffic which carries a fine of $150

December 9th, 2024

At 9:30 am, police were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Mountain Street and South Railway.  The driver of a white Ford SUV attempted to cross Mountain Street heading westbound on South Railway and pulled in front of a red Ford truck travelling northbound on Mountain Street.  There were no injuries, and both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Police received a report of a hit and run to a 2010 grey Toyota Corolla while it was parked in the Shopper’s Drug Mart parking lot.  The driver parked his vehicle and returned to find damage on the driver’s side rear fender. 

December 11th, 2024

Police received a Warrant of Arrest for 48 year-old Leigh Anne Kuryk for Failing to Attend for Identification.

Police received a Warrant of Arrest for 19 year-old Dustin Kyle Daniels for Failing to Attend for Identification.

December 12th, 2024

Police were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of 1st Street and Rampton Street.  A white Town and Country van was travelling southbound on 1st Street when a blue Chevrolet car turned in front of the van onto Rampton.  The van collided with the car and one driver was transported to the hospital for an assessment.  Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

December 15th, 2024

At 3:40 am, police were dispatched to a residence regarding a vehicle on fire on a driveway in the 300 block of 8th Street.  Police and Morden Fire and Rescue attended and extinguished the fire.  No one was injured in this incident.

December 20th, 2024

At 5:10 pm, police were a report of a male laying in the snow at the intersection of Stephen Street and Mountain Street.  A 48 year-old male was arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and lodged in cells until sober.  He was released with no charges.

At 8:15 pm, police were dispatched to a local business regarding an intoxicated female who was yelling at staff and customers.  A 54 year-old female was arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and lodged in cells until sober.  She was released with no charges.

December 21st, 2024

Police were dispatched to South Railway Street as a male was standing in the middle of the street not wearing a shirt.  Police and EMS arrived on scene and the male was transported to a healthcare facility.

At 11:15 pm, police were dispatched to a local business regarding an intoxicated female who was causing a disturbance.  The 54 year-old female was arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and lodged in cells until sober.  She was released with no charges.

December 22nd, 2024

While on general patrol, police observed a vehicle swerve within its lane several times.  Police conducted a traffic stop and observed an odor of liquor coming from the driver.  Police made a demand for the driver to provide a sample of their breath on the Roadside Screening device which resulted in a warn reading.  The driver was issued a 15-day driving suspension and a 3-day impoundment of the vehicle along with a $500 administrative penalty.  The driver was also issued a ticket for Drive While Disqualified which carries a fine of $672.
