February 13th, 2023 – February 27th, 2023

During this reporting period, MPS issued:  

  • One ticket for Drive Without Holding a Valid Driver’s Licence which carries a fine of $298 
  • Two tickets for Drive an Unregistered Vehicle which carries a fine of $298 

February 14th, 2023 

At 8:30 am, police received a report of a break and enter that occurred in a large, shared garage at a senior living centre. Police attended and several vehicles had been gone through with items damaged and stolen. Police are continuing their investigation. 

Police received a report of a theft of tires and rims from a local business. Police are continuing their investigation. 

February 15th, 2023 

At 12:50 am, police were dispatched to a local business regarding a suspicious male who was bothering staff members. The male had been at the business for several hours because of the weather. Police attended and mediated the situation. The male was allowed to stay due to weather as long as he did not bother staff members. 

February 20th, 2023  

At 5:15 am, police were dispatched to a residence as the caller was woken up by her neighbor who had been locked out of her house. Police attended and learned that the couple had been drinking and started arguing. While police were at the residence the couple began arguing again and the 29-year-old Morden resident was arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and lodged in cells until sober. He was released later without charges. 

February 21st, 2023 

Police received a report of a hit and run to a vehicle that occurred on February 11th while parked in the Coop Grocery Store parking lot in Morden. The driver parked his 2016 white Acura MDX and returned to find damage on the right front side of the vehicle. 

February 22nd, 2023 

At 7:45 pm, police were dispatched to a residence in Southdale Bay regarding a structure fire. Police attended along with Morden Fire and Rescue, where it was determined that no one was in the residence and there were no injuries. 

February 24th, 2023 

Police were dispatched to a residence regarding a noise complaint. The caller advised that her neighbor was playing loud music. Police attended and spoke to the homeowner who advised he would turn the music down. No charges were laid due to this incident. 

February 25th, 2023 

At 8:00 pm, police were dispatched to a residence regarding a theft of motor vehicle. The caller advised that a male had assaulted him and taken his vehicle. Police are continuing their investigation.
