During this reporting period, MPS issued:
- Two tickets for Drive While Disqualified which carries a fine of $672 and a 30 day vehicle impoundment
February 2nd, 2023
At 10:30 am, police received a report of a suspicious male who was attempting to get into a couple of closed businesses. Police attended and spoke to the male who was given a ride to a local hotel.
Police were dispatched to a local business regarding a suspicious male who was causing a disturbance and asking customers for money. Police attended and requested the male leave the property. Police were called back later in the day to the same business regarding the same male and again asked him to leave the property. No charges were laid as a result of these incidents.
February 3rd, 2023
Police received a report of a theft from a local business that occurred on January 21st. Police are continuing their investigation.
At 4:25 pm, police were dispatched to a structure fire on Autumnwood Crescent. Morden Fire and EMS arrived on scene and a small fire was located under the residence. The fire was extinguished, and no one was injured in this incident.
February 4th, 2023
At 2:30 pm, police received a call to conduct a wellbeing check. Police attended and spoke to the female who was intoxicated and on conditions to not consume alcohol. The 33-year-old Winkler-resident was arrested for Failing to Comply with her Undertaking and released on an Appearance Notice to attend to Morden Provincial Court in April.
February 7th, 2023
Police received a report that sometime overnight on February 4th the caller’s vehicle was gone through while parked in the 400 block of 12th Street. Nothing was taken and there was no damage to the vehicle.
February 8th, 2023
Police responded to an incident at a local school involving staff and two aggressive youth. Police took both youth into custody and continued their investigation. A 15-year-old youth and 14-year-old youth were later released on Undertaking’s with court dates to attend Morden Provincial Court in April.
February 9th, 2023
On January 3rd, 2023, police entered into an investigation regarding online behaviour of a male that was believed to reside in Morden. On February 9th, 2023, a 64-year-old Morden-resident was arrested for Luring a Child and Sexual Interference and released on an Undertaking to attend to Morden Provincial Court in April.
Police received a report of Mischief to a vehicle while parked on Jefferson Street between December 3rd, 2022 and February 9th, 2023. The back window of the vehicle was smashed. There are no suspects at this time.
