July 18th, 2022 – July 25th, 2022

During this reporting period, MPS issued:

  • One ticket for Driving Carelessly which carries a fine of $672
  • One ticket for Disobey a Traffic Control Device namely Stop Sign which carries a fine of $203
  • One ticket for Fail to Signal a Turn which carries a fine of $143

July 18th, 2022

Police received a report of a license plate stolen overnight from the back of a red Toyota Corolla that was parked on Shannon Crescent.  There are no suspects at this time

July 20th, 2022

On July 17th, 2022 police received a report of a missing female youth who was believed to be at a residence in Morden. Police attended the residence and spoke to two residents who advised the youth may be at another residence.  Police checked the home and were unable to locate the missing youth.  Police attended back to this same address several times and finally located the missing youth who had been hiding in the home.  The youth was returned to her home and her parents.  On July 20th, 2022 police arrested the two suspects who had been hiding the youth and charged them with Obstructing a Peace Officer. They were released on an Appearance Notice to attend court in September.  Police are continuing their investigation with a third suspect.

At 11:10 am, police were dispatched to a local hotel regarding a male outside yelling and screaming.  Police spoke with the male who agreed to quiet down for the night.  They were later called back a second time for the same incident and issued the male a warning.  No charges were laid as a result of this incident.

July 21st, 2022

At 4:10 pm, police were dispatched to the Morden Colert Beach regarding three suspects who did not have passes and refused to leave the Splish Splash water park.  Police attended and issued warnings to the suspects for not paying.  No charges were laid as a result of this incident.

July 22nd, 2022

At 11:30 am, police received a call regarding a male youth who was intoxicated and out of control at home.    Police attended and spoke to the male who was intoxicated but had calmed down.  Police helped mediate the situation for the night and will be continuing their investigation.

July 23rd, 2022

At 2:30 am, police were dispatched to the intersection of Gilmour Street and 6th Street regarding a possible stolen vehicle.  Police attended and spoke to the owner of the vehicle who advised there under-age child had snuck out of the home and taken the vehicle without consent.  The vehicle owner went looking for the youth and observed them driving around the city with some friends.  The youth was issued a ticket for Drive Without a Valid Drivers Licence which carries a fine of $298.

At 6:20 pm, police received a call from a male who advised he was in the hospital receiving medical treatment after being assaulted by two males.  The victim advised he had been riding his bike with a friend when two males pulled up beside them in a vehicle, jumped out and started hitting him.  Police are continuing their investigation.
