During this reporting period, MPS issued:
- One ticket for Driving while Disqualified which carries a fine of $672 along with a 30-day vehicle impoundment
- One ticket for Display a Number Plate that does not match Registration which carries a fine of $113
- One ticket for Driver Fail to Produce Insurance Certificate and Registration which carries a fine of $113
- One ticket for Speeding (150 km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone) which carries a fine of $705 along with a Serious Offence Notice for Drivers License Review
- One ticket for Disobey Traffic Control Device namely Stop Sign which carries a fine of $203
- One ticket for Failing to Wear a Seatbelt which carries a fine of $298
- One ticket for Drive an Unregistered Vehicle which carries a fine of $298
- Six tickets for Speeding
July 23rd, 2026
At 1:15 pm, police received a report of a theft from a local business. Police attended and located the male and female responsible for the theft. Both were arrested and later released with a banning notice at the request of the business.
July 25th, 2026
At 2:05 am, police were dispatched to a licensed premise for a report of a fight in progress. Police arrived on scene and spoke to the victim and who provided a statement of the assault to investigators. Police are continuing their investigation.
At 2:30 pm, police were dispatched to Colert Beach for a report of a female who had been struck by a car. Police arrived on scene and attended to the victim along with witnesses to the incident. Police learned that the suspect vehicle had already left the scene and a description of the vehicle was given at that time. A bulletin was put out for the suspect vehicle and later that day a 32-year-old male was located and arrested for Aggravated Assault. The male was remanded into custody. The victim was taken to the local health care facility with non-life-threatening injuries.
At 8:45 pm, police were dispatched to a local residence for a report of an intoxicated female causing a disturbance. Police arrived and arrested the 56-year-old female under the Protective Detention and Care of Intoxicated Persons Act. She was released from cells once sober without charges.
At 12:22 am, police attempted to conduct a traffic stop on an electric dirtbike which was observed to be operating in contravention of City of Morden By-law 07-2026. The rider failed to stop for police and attempted to evade police attention by riding through local business properties and parks. The male rider was later located hiding from police, at which time he was apprehended with the assistance of the Winkler Police Service. The 27-year-old male was arrested for Flight from Police and released on an Appearance Notice to attend Morden Provincial Court in October. The driver was also issued a ticket for Disobey Traffic Control Device namely Stop Sign which carries a fine of $203.
July 27th, 2026
Police received a report of an assault that occurred on July 25th in the back alley near North Railway Street. The male victim advised that he was speaking to one male suspect who attempted to punch him and grazed his face. The two males began to fight when a third male suspect on a mobility scooter ran into the victim and knocked him down. The mobility scooter was left on top of the victim while he was being assaulted by the suspects. The assault was eventually broken up by some bystanders, and the two suspects were arrested by police and released on Undertakings to attend court in October.
July 30th, 2026
At 12:30 am, police were dispatched to a residence regarding an intoxicated female who had no where to stay. Police arrived and arrested the 25-year-old female under the Protective Detention and Care of Intoxicated Persons Act. She was also on a condition to not consume alcohol and was arrested for Failing to Comply with her Undertaking. Once sober the female was released on an Appearance Notice to attend court in October.
August 3rd, 2026
Police received a complaint of a highly intoxicated male near 8th Street and Thornhill Street. Police arrived and arrested the 32-year-old male under the Protective Detention and Care of Intoxicated Persons Act. He was also on conditions to not consume alcohol and was arrested for Failing to Comply with his Undertaking and Failing to Comply with his Probation Order. Once sober the male was released on an Appearance Notice to attend court in October.
