March 25th, 2024 – April 8th, 2024

During this reporting period, MPS issued:

  • One ticket for Use a Cellular Telephone or other Handheld Device while Operating a Motor Vehicle which carries a fine of $672 and a three-day license suspension
  • One ticket for Drive While Disqualified which carries a fine of $672 and a 30-day motor vehicle seizure
  • One ticket for Drive Without a Valid Driver’s License which carries a fine of $298

March 25th, 2024

At 8:55 am, police were dispatched to local business regarding a fight between a male and female.  Police attended and observed a female attempting to shut the door on a male who was trying to push it open.    The male was known to be on conditions to have no contact with the female and not attend within 200 meters of her residence.  He was arrested for Failing to Comply with this Release Order and later released on an Appearance Notice to attend Morden Provincial Court in May.

March 26th, 2024

Police received a Warrant of Arrest for a 28 year-old Morden resident from Probation Services for one count of Fail to Comply with Probation Order.  On March 28th, 2024 this male was located and arrested on the strength of this warrant.  He was also charged with Fail to Comply with Undertaking for not being home for a curfew check on March 26th.  He was released on an Appearance Notice to attend Morden Provincial Court in June.

March 27th, 2024

At 2:50 pm, police received a request to conduct a wellbeing check on an intoxicated male.  The male was located and was highly intoxicated and had no one to care for him.  The 30 year-old was arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and lodged in cells until sober.  He was released without charges.

March 29th, 2024

Police were dispatched to a residence regarding loud music.  The caller advised that her neighbor was refusing to turn down the music.  Police attended and spoke to the resident who advised them they would turn the music down.  No charges were laid as a result of this incident.

March 30th, 2024

At 1:50 am, police were dispatched to a residence regarding a loud party.  Police attended and spoke to the tenant who agreed to keep the noise down.

Police received a report of a theft of a dog.  The caller advised that sometime overnight someone took his dog from outside his home.

April 2nd, 2024

Police received a report of a hit and run to a vehicle that occurred on March 28th between 5pm and 9pm while parked in a parking lot on Route 100 in Morden.  The driver parked his 2021 grey Dodge Ram and returned to find damage on the driver’s side doors. 

At 5:30 pm, police received a report of a theft from a local business.  The caller advised a male was to remove empty beer bottles from their storage shed.  The suspect was located and arrested for theft Under $5,000.  He was released on an Undertaking to attend to Morden Provincial Court in June.

April 7th, 2024

At 2:40 am, police received a call regarding an unconscious male on the side of Mountain Street.  Police located a 22 year-old Morden resident who was highly intoxicated.  He was arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and lodged in cells until sober.  He was released without charges.

April 8th, 2024

Police received a report of a hit and run to a vehicle that occurred on March 20th, 2024 between 7:30am and 5:30pm while parked in the 100 block of 7th Street in Morden. The driver parked his 2022 blue Lincoln Aviator and returned to find damage on the front passenger bumper.
