March 4th, 2024 – March 18th, 2024 

During this reporting period, MPS issued: 

  • One ticket for driving while suspended which carries a fine of $672 
  • One ticket for driving unregistered which carries a fine of $298 
  • One ticket for Speeding (130 km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone) which carries a fine of $442 
  • One ticket for Speeding (135 km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone) which carries a fine of $508 

March 6th, 2024 

Police received a report of a hit and run to a vehicle that occurred on March 6th while parked at a local residence in Morden.  The driver parked their 2016 white Honda Civic and returned to find damage on the rear bumper and trunk.  Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the Morden Police Service at 822-4900 

March 9th, 2024 

At 6:50am, police were dispatched to a local residence for a possible fight in progress. Police attended and spoke to the accused who was extremely intoxicated and causing a disturbance. The 21-year-old female was arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and released to a sober family member.  

March 13th, 2024 

Police received a call from a local business that a male was causing a disturbance and refusing to leave. Police attended and found the male to be intoxicated and aggressive. The 30-year-old male was arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and released once sober without charges.  

March 14th, 2024 

At 6:45pm, police were dispatched to the Morden Park for a suspicious male walking around the washrooms. Police arrived to find an intoxicated male walking through the park, the 46-year-old male was arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and released once sober.  

At 7:10pm, police were dispatched to a local residence in regard to an intoxicated male yelling at people and causing a disturbance. Police arrived and found the 30-year-old male to be intoxicated and being uncooperative. He was arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and released once sober.  

March 16th, 2024 

Police were dispatched to a local business for a report of a fight in progress. Police arrived to find 2 males with injuries. EMS arrived on scene and brought one male to the local hospital for assessment. Police are continuing their investigation.  

While on general patrol, police conducted a traffic stop and detected an odor of liquor coming from the driver.  Police made a demand for the driver to provide a sample of their breath on the Roadside Screening device which resulted in a warn reading.  The driver was issued a 72-hour driving suspension and a 3-day impoundment of the vehicle along with a $400 administrative penalty. 

Police were dispatched to a residence in regard to a male causing a disturbance.  The 30-year-old male was intoxicated and had nowhere to stay.  He was arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and lodged in cells until sober.  He was released without charges. 

At 7:00pm, police were dispatched to a local business for a male intoxicated and yelling. Police arrived and found the 47-year-old male hiding in the nearby bushes. He was arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and released from cells without charges once sober.  

March 18th, 2024  

While on general patrol, police observed a male known to them and to be on a curfew condition. The 34-year-old male was arrested for Failing to Comply with Release Order x3. Police are continuing their investigation.
