During this reporting period, MPS issued:

  • One ticket for Driving Unregistered Vehicle which carries a fine of $298

March 7th, 2023

While on general patrol, police conducted a traffic stop and observed an odor of liquor coming from the driver of the vehicle.  Police made a demand for the driver to provide a sample of their breath on the Roadside Screening device which resulted in a fail reading.  The driver was issued a 90-day driving suspension and a 30-day impoundment of the vehicle along with a $700 administrative penalty. 

At 11:15 pm, police were dispatched to a local establishment regarding a female who was trying to fight other patrons.  Police attended and learned that an intoxicated female was yelling and trying to fight another female.  The suspect had an injury and was transported to Boundary Trails Health Centre by ambulance.  The other female involved was not injured.  No charges were laid due to this incident.

March 10th, 2023

Police received a report of mischief to the bathroom in the Morden Park. The damage occurred sometime during the day on March 9th.  There are no suspects at this time.

At 8:10 pm, police received a call regarding a female smoking marijuana in a vehicle.  Police located the vehicle and spoke to the occupants. The passenger admitted to smoking marijuana and was issued a verbal warning for consuming cannabis inside a vehicle.

March 12th, 2023

At 4:40 pm, police were dispatched to a residence regarding an assault.  The caller advised that he had been assaulted by his girlfriend. Police attended, arrested the 25-year-old Roseau River resident, and released her on an Undertaking to attend Morden Provincial Court in May.
