May 12th, 2025 – May 20th, 2025

During this reporting period, MPS issued:

  • Thirteen tickets for Speeding
  • Three tickets for Fail to wear Seatbelt which carries a fine of $298
  • One ticket for Proceed before Safe to do so which carries a fine of $174
  • Six tickets for Disobey Traffic Control Device namely Stop Sign which carries a fine of $203
  • One ticket for Drive Imprudently which carries a fine of $203
  • One ticket for Unlawful Transportation of Liquor in Motor Vehicle which carries a fine of $237

May 13th, 2025

At 4:30 am, police were dispatched to a report of a female knocking on a residence door and causing a disturbance. Police arrived and arrested the 31-year-old female under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and lodged her in cells until sober. She was released without charges.

At 5:20 pm, police were dispatched to a residence for a male causing a disturbance and refusing to leave. Police arrived and arrested the 31-year-old male under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and was lodged in cells until sober. He was released without charges.

May 17th, 2025

While on general patrol, police conducted a traffic stop and observed open beer cans beside the driver.  Police made a demand for the driver to provide a sample of their breath on the Roadside Screening device which resulted in a fail reading.  The driver was issued a 90-day driving suspension and a 30-day impoundment of the vehicle along with a $700 fine. 

Police were dispatched to a 2-motor vehicle collision at the intersection of 1st street and Thornhill Street. No injuries were reported, and both vehicles were towed from the scene.

May 18th, 2025

At 1:40 am, police received a report of an intoxicated female refusing to go home. Police arrived on scene and arrested the 54-year-old female under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act. She was lodged in cells until sober and released without charges.

While on general patrol, police observed a male at a local business who was known to be on conditions not to attend that business. He was arrested for Failing to Comply with Undertaking and released on an Appearance Notice to attend Morden Provincial Court in August.

May 19th, 2025

Police were dispatched along with EMS to a residence for an injured male. Police and EMS arrived on scene and the male transported to the local hospital for assessment.
