November 14th, 2022 – November 28th, 2022 

During this reporting period, MPS issued:

  • Three tickets for Drive an Unregistered Vehicle which carries a fine of $298
  • One ticket for Drive a Vehicle without a Supervising Driver which carries a fine of $203
  • One ticket for Unlawful Transportation of Cannabis in a Vehicle which carries a fine of $237
  • One ticket for Speeding (152km/hr in a 100km/hr zone) which carries a fine of $731
  • One ticket for Speeding (150km/hr in a 100km/hr zone) which carries a fine of $705
  • Two tickets for Disobey Traffic Control Device Namely Red Light which carries a fine of $203

November 20th, 2022

At 1:30 am, police were dispatched to a local business regarding an intoxicated female who was causing a disturbance.  She was arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and lodged in cells until sober.  She was released the next morning without charges.

Police were dispatched to a residence regarding a male who was not supposed to be on the caller’s property.  Police attended and located the male who was arrested for Failing to Comply with his Undertaking.  He was released on an Appearance Notice to attend Morden Provincial Court in January.

November 23rd, 2022

Police received a report of a hit and run to a vehicle that occurred on November 18th while parked on Gilmour Street.  The driver parked her 2017 blue Hyundai Elantra and returned to find damage on the driver’s side front bumper.

November 25th, 2022

At 6:25 pm, police received a report of a male laying in a snowbank in front of a local business.  Police located the male who was intoxicated and on conditions to not consume alcohol.  The male was arrested and charged with Failing to Comply with his Undertaking.  He was released on an Appearance Notice to appear in Morden Provincial Court in February.

November 26th, 2022

At 1:30 am, police received a complaint of a male who was intoxicated and refusing to leave the caller’s residence.  Police located the male walking on the street away from the residence and subsequently learned that he was on conditions to not consume alcohol or other intoxicating substances.  The male was arrested and charged with Failing to Comply with his Undertaking.  He was released on an Appearance Notice to appear in Morden Provincial Court in February.

At 2:35 am, while on general patrol, police conducted a traffic stop and the driver of the vehicle was unable to produce a driver’s licence.  Police made a demand for the driver to provide a sample of their breath on the Roadside Screening device which resulted in a warn reading.  The driver was issued a 72 hour driving suspension and a 3 day impoundment of the vehicle along with a $400 administrative penalty.  The driver was also issued a ticket for Drive While Disqualified which carries a fine of $672 along with a 30 day vehicle impoundment.
