November 18th, 2024 – December 2nd, 2024

During this reporting period, MPS issued:

  • One ticket for Drive without Motor Vehicle Liability Insurance which carries a fine of $672
  • Two tickets for Unlawful Transportation of Liquor in Motor Vehicle which carries a fine of $237
  • One ticket for Drive Unregistered Vehicle which carries a fine of $298
  • One ticket for Drive without holding valid driver’s licence permit class appropriate for the vehicle being driven which carries a fine of $298
  • One ticket for Drive a Motor Vehicle not equipped with an Approved Ignition Interlock Device which carries a fine of $672
  • One ticket for Pass a Stopped School Bus which carries a fine of $672
  • One ticket for Fail to produce Licence as Driver which carries a fine of $113

November 18th, 2024

Police were dispatched to a residence where a woman was causing a disturbance. Police arrived and found a 23-year-old female highly intoxicated and the owners advised she was no longer welcome at the residence. She was arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act, lodged into police cells until sober, and released without charges.

November 20th, 2024

Police received a report of a gift card fraud. The victim advised she received a call requesting to buy gift cards and tell the caller the numbers on the back for government purposes. Police are continuing their investigation.

While on general patrol, police conducted a traffic stop and observed a strong odor of liquor coming from the driver. Police made a demand for the driver to provide a sample of their breath on the Roadside Screening device which resulted in a fail reading.  The driver was issued a 90-day driving suspension and a 30-day impoundment of the vehicle along with a $700 fine. 

November 25th, 2024

At 4:30 am, police were dispatched to a residence regarding an Assault.  Police attended and spoke to the victim who advised that her husband had hit her in the face.  The male was arrested and lodged in cells until sober.  He was released on an Undertaking to attend Morden Provincial Court in January.

November 26th, 2024

Police obtained a Warrant of Arrest for Christopher Donaldson for Failing to Attend for Identification Purposes on October 22nd, 2024.

Police received a Warrant of Arrest for Ernie Hildebrand for Failing to Attend Court.

Police received a Warrant of Arrest for Tyrel Esquash for Failing to Attend Court.

November 29th, 2024

At 4:25 am, police were dispatched to a residence regarding an intoxicated male.  The male was talking nonsensical and was intoxicated.  A 32 year-old male was arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and lodged in cells until sober.  He was released without charges.

November 30th, 2024

At 3:30 am, police were dispatched to a local business regarding people banging on the door.  Police attended and located a male lying on the sidewalk near the business.  He was brought inside out of the cold and an ambulance was called.  EMS attended and transported the male to the hospital.

Police were dispatched to a dwelling unit regarding a disturbance.  Police attended and observed smoke filling one of the rooms.  The occupant advised that a container had caught fire in their room and he attempted to put the fire out.  The male was injured and was tended to by EMS.  The fire was extinguished without further damage or injury.

December 1st, 2024

At 7:15 pm, police were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Thornhill Street and Route 100.  A van with 10 passengers was travelling eastbound on Thornhill Street when a car turned off Route 100 causing him to go into the ditch to avoid the collision.  The car did not remain on scene but was identified after further police investigation and the driver was cautioned regarding remaining at the scene of an accident. No one was injured in this accident.
