During this reporting period, MPS issued:
- One ticket for Use a Cellular Telephone or other Handheld Device while Operating a Motor Vehicle which carries a fine of $672 and a three-day license suspension
- Three tickets for Driver not Wearing a Seatbelt which carries a fine of $298
- One ticket for Speeding
October 24th, 2023
Police received a report of a theft from a residence on Gilmour Street. The caller advised that her flag was stolen from her residence.
At 5:30 pm, police were dispatched to a local business for a possible overdose. Police and EMS arrived on scene and the individual was subsequently transported to a medical healthcare facility for treatment.
October 25th, 2023
Police received a Warrant of Arrest for a 20 year old male for Failing to Comply with Probation Order. On October 27th he turned himself in on the strength of this warrant and was released on an Appearance Notice to attend court in January.
October 26th, 2023
Police were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of 1st Street and Thornhill Street. A red Acura MDX turned left in front of an east bound red Buick Verano and the vehicles collided. There were no injuries from the accident and both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.
October 29th, 2023
Police received a report of a theft from a motor vehicle. The caller advised that money was stolen from inside his vehicle while it was parked behind a local business on Stephen Street.
At 8:20 pm, police were dispatched to a local business regarding an assault. The caller advised that she was assaulted by an intoxicated male while sitting in the hot tub. Police attended and arrested the 47 year old male for assault and under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act. He was released the next morning when sober on an Undertaking for court in January.
