During this reporting period, MPS issued:
- One bylaw ticket for parking on street when prohibited which carries a fine of $150
October 30th, 2023
Police were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Willcocks Road and Road 29W. A Dump Truck travelling east bound collided with a Black Ford Fusion. Fire and Resue along with EMS arrived on scene and transported one driver for minor injuries. One vehicle was towed from the scene.
November 3rd, 2023
Police received a Warrant of Arrest for a 16-year-old male for Failing to Comply with Probation Order.
November 4th, 2023
While on general patrol, police conducted a traffic stop and detected an odor of liquor coming from the driver. Police made a demand for the driver to provide a sample of their breath on the Roadside Screening device which resulted in a warn reading. The driver was issued a 72-hour driving suspension and a 3-day impoundment of the vehicle along with a $400 administrative penalty.
Police were dispatched to a local residence for a complaint of people fighting in the building. Police arrived to find a male who was intoxicated and causing a disturbance, further checks show the male to be on conditions to not consume alcohol. A 46-year-old male from Winkler became violent with police and he was subsequently arrested for Failing to Comply with an Undertaking, Uttering Threats and Assaulting a Police Officer.
