October 3rd, 2023 – October 10th, 2023

During this reporting period, MPS issued:

  • One ticket for Drive an Unregistered Vehicle which carries a fine of $298
  • One ticket for Drive While Disqualified which carries a fine of $672 and a 30-day vehicle impound
  • One ticket for Failing to Comply with Speed Requirements when Passing an Emergency Vehicle which carries a fine of $298
  • Two tickets for speeding (190 km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone) which carries a fine of $1228 and a Serious Offence Notice
  • Three tickets for Speeding
  • One By-Law ticket for Animal Wandering at Large which carries a fine of $150

October 5th, 2023

Police received a report of an intoxicated female who attended the caller’s residence and was banging on the door and trying to force her way in.  The female left the residence and was located at a local business.  She was extremely intoxicated and was arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act.  She was lodged in cells until sober and released without charges.

October 7th, 2023

Police were dispatched to a residence requesting a wellbeing check conducted on a male who was threatening to harm himself.  Police attended and spoke to the male was ok and had no plans to self-harm.

October 8th, 2023

At 11:00 am, while on general patrol, police observed a motorcycle with an inactive licence plate. Police initiated emergency lights and sirens and attempted to pull the motorcycle over, but it fled at a high rate of speed. Police are continuing their investigation.

October 9th, 2023

At 3:45 am, police were dispatched to a local business regarding a male who was sleeping in the business and would not leave. Police attended and spoke to the male who had nowhere to stay and advised he would not leave the business. He was arrested for trespassing and lodged in cells for the night. He was issued a ticket for trespassing which carries a fine of $672.
