On January 16th, 2022 at approximately 2:15 pm members of the Morden Police Service conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in relation to a drug investigation. Police observed the driver to be acting in a suspicious manner and further checks revealed the driver had an invalid licence. With the assistance of the Winkler Police Service, police arrested both the driver and a passenger for Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking. During a search of the vehicle, police located approximately 38 grams of methamphetamine, a scale, cellphones, cash and other drug trafficking paraphernalia.
As a result of this incident, 45-year-old Grant Donald Connor of Carman has been charged with Possession of Controlled Substance and Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking re: Methamphetamine. The accused was remanded into police custody and transported to the Winnipeg Remand Centre. The accused has since been released on conditions to appear in Morden Provincial Court in February.
