During this reporting period, MPS issued:
- Ten tickets for Speeding
- Six tickets for Drive an Unregistered Vehicle which carries a fine of $298
- Two tickets for Drive without valid Driver’s License which carries a fine of $298
- One ticket for Fail to Comply with License Conditions which carries a fine of $209
June 25th, 2024
Police were dispatched to the intersection of Nelson Street and Stephen Street for a 2-motor vehicle collision with no injuries reported. Police and Morden Fire and Rescue arrived on scene and 1 vehicle was towed.
June 26th, 2024
At 6:10 pm, police were dispatched to a report of a rolled scooter. Police attended and found 57-year-old male rolled his scooter and hit his head. EMS arrived and transported the male to a local hospital for assessment.
While on general patrol, police conducted a traffic stop and detected an odor of liquor coming from the driver. Police made a demand for the driver to provide a sample of their breath on the Roadside Screening Device which resulted in a “fail” reading. The driver was issued a 90-day driving suspension and a 30-day impoundment of the vehicle along with a $700 administrative penalty.
June 28th, 2024
At 9:30 am, police and Morden Fire and Rescue were dispatched to a local residence for a report of an electrical fire. Both services arrived on scene and found that there was no fire, however a faulty water tank had caused smoke within the residence.
While on general patrol police observed a van with no brake lights or running lights and conducted a traffic stop. Police observed unmarked cigarettes and cocaine in the vehicle which resulted in a ticket for Possess not Manitoba Marked Tobacco which carries a fine of $2542.00. A 35-year-old male was arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking. He was released on an Undertaking to attend Morden Provincial Court in September.
At 5:15 pm, police were dispatched to a 2-motor vehicle collision. Morden Fire and Rescue along with EMS arrived on scene where 1 male reported no injuries, and another male was transported by EMS to a local hospital for assessment. Both vehicles were towed from the scene and police cleared.
