September 3rd, 2024 – September 16th, 2024

During this reporting period, MPS issued:

  • Two tickets for Drive an Unregistered Vehicle which carries a fine of $298
  • Eight tickets for Speeding
  • One By-Law ticket for Parking in a No Parking Zone which carries a fine of $150

September 3rd, 2024

While on general patrol, police conducted a traffic stop to a male known to be on conditions. After further investigation the male was arrested for failing to comply with Undertaking conditions and Possession of a Controlled Substance. He was released on an Undertaking to attend Morden Provincial Court in November.

September 7th, 2024

While on general patrol, police conducted a traffic stop and observed an open case of beer in the vehicle.  Police made a demand for the driver to provide a sample of their breath on the Roadside Screening Device which resulted in a “warn” reading. The driver was issued a 72-hour driving suspension and a 3-day impoundment of the vehicle along with a $400 fine. 

September 8th, 2024

Police were dispatched to a local residence for a report of a domestic disturbance. Police arrived on scene and learned the suspect male had conditions not to be at the residence and had fled prior to police arrival. With the assistance of the Winkler Police Service K9 Unit, a 29-year-old male was located nearby and arrested for 3 counts of failing to comply with release order. He was remanded into custody, scheduled to appear in Winnipeg.

September 9th, 2024

Police received a report of tools that were stolen from the box of a work pickup truck. There was no camera footage of the theft, police are continuing their investigation.

September 10th, 2024

Police received an Endorsed Warrant for 26-year-old Dameon Connor for Failing to Attend Court.

September 11th, 2024

At 4:45pm, police were dispatched to a local establishment for a female who was refusing to leave. Police attended and the suspect was warned for trespassing and left the premises.
