Morden Police entered into an investigation regarding a local church conducting a regular Service on April 4th, 2021 in contravention of the current Manitoba Provincial Health Orders. Police are continuing their investigation.
At 11:15 pm, police received a report of an assault. Police attended and observed a female wrapped in a blanket sitting on the boulevard. She was upset and crying and reported that her ex-boyfriend had choked her. EMS arrived on the scene and she was transported to the hospital. While at the hospital she advised police that her ex-boyfriend was at her residence when he became upset and broke her TV. He then assaulted her, choked her, and ripped off her clothing. The 31-year-old Morden resident was arrested for Assault with a Weapon, Assault, Sexual Assault, Choke to Overcome Resistance, Uttering Threats and Mischief. Police are continuing their investigation.
