March 16th, 2022
Police received a report of mischief to a mailbox inside the Canada Post building. The caller stated that the door was ripped off the hinges and believes the damage happened over the weekend.
March 17th, 2022
At 11:12 pm, police were dispatched to a residence regarding an intoxicated female. The caller wanted the female removed from her residence as she was smashing items inside the house. Police attended and arrested a 19-year-old female for Breach of Peace. She was held until sober and released without charges.
March 18th, 2022
At 1:18 am, police were dispatched to a residence in regard to the caller’s grandson causing a disturbance. Police attended and mediated the situation, and no charges were laid as a result.
At 1:33 am, police received a report of a male and female that had been assaulted. When police arrived on scene, they observed the two bleeding from the head. The victims stated they had been walking home from a bar, when they noticed that they were being followed. Upon arriving home, the victims stated that a male and female entered their apartment and attacked them. Both victims were transported to a medical healthcare facility for treatment. The victims did not wish to give a statement or press charges.
March 20th, 2022
At 3:04 am, police received a call from an individual reporting a male passed out in his garage. Police attended and gave the intoxicated male a ride home and turned him over to a sober adult.
Police received a report of two children playing on the ice at Lake Minnewasta. The caller was concerned because of the warm weather melting the ice. Police attended but did not observe anyone on the lake. Morden Police Service would like to remind the public to use caution when around Lake Minnewasta at this time. Various factors such as wind, snow layers, and water currents can weaken ice even when it appears thick enough to walk on.
