March 21st, 2022
Police received a request from an individual requesting a well being check on his mother. The caller stated that he talks to her daily but has been unable to reach her for a few days. Police attended the mother’s residence and learned that the phone lines were being repaired.
Morden Police Service received a report of a hit and run. The victim, who had been in Winnipeg recently, noticed damage on the door of her black 2018 Acura RDX. It is not known exactly where or when this may have happened.
At 11:15 pm, police received a call from a concerned female stating that her boyfriend was threatening to harm her ex-husband as well as himself. Police attended and spoke with the male who admitted to saying these things as a tactic to get his girlfriend to speak to him. Police were confident that nobody was in danger and cleared the scene.
March 22nd, 2022
At 8:40 am, while on general patrol, officers observed a male walking, who was known to be on an absolute curfew. Subsequently, a 28 year old male from Morden was arrested for Failing to Comply with a Conditional Sentence Order. He was remanded into custody.
March 23rd, 2022
Morden Police Service received an endorsed warrant of arrest for 37 year old Angela Dawn Roberts of Winkler, for Failing to Attend Court.
Police received a complaint of fraud. The caller stated that she saw a freezer for sale online and sent money to the seller to hold the item for her. When she tried to contact them, nobody would get back to her. The caller is out $140.
Police received a report of an adult female yelling at a 15 year old male. The male has been dating the daughter of the female and she became upset at the male. Police told the female to stay away from the male and his family.
Police received a report of a possible impaired driver. Police located the driver of the vehicle who was not impaired but looking for his friend’s house and unfamiliar with the area.
March 25th, 2022
At 10:02 am, police received a report of a downed power line on Conner Hill Drive. Police attended and secured the scene until Manitoba Hydro could attend.
At 10:50 pm, police were dispatched to a residence in regards to a female that had been assaulted by her boyfriend. When police arrived on scene, they found two people restraining the suspect who was yelling and had a clump of hair in his hand. When police spoke with the victim, she stated that the male pushed her around and threw her into a wall. As a result, a 21 year old male from Winnipeg was arrested and charged with one count of Assault. He was released on an Undertaking and will be appearing in Morden Provincial Court in June.
March 26th, 2022
At 12:00 am, police received a complaint of several people yelling in front of an apartment in the 100 block of 7th Street. Police attended and the tenant agreed to keep it down for the night.
At 1:40 am, police were dispatched to a residence in regards to an intoxicated male. The male resides at a sober living house and is not allowed to be on the property while intoxicated. When police arrived, they located the male and arrested him under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act. The 24 year old was lodged in cells until sober and released later that day without charges.
At 8:15 pm, police were dispatched to a residence in regards to an assault. Police arrived and learned that a 15 year old male had assaulted his adult sister and then took off running. When police spoke with the victim, she stated that she had been punched in the head. A short while later, the suspect was found running through the creek. The youth was arrested and charged with one count of Assault. He was released on an Undertaking and will be appearing in Morden Provincial Court in June.
