During this reporting period, MPS issued:

  • One ticket for Speeding
  • One ticket for Drive an Unregistered Vehicle which carries a fine of $298
  • Five tickets for Driver Fail to Wear Seatbelt which carries a fine of $298
  • One ticket for Disobey Traffic Control Device namely Stop Sign which carries a fine of $203
  • One ticket for Drive Imprudently which carries a fine of $203
  • One ticket for Drive without Holding Valid Drivers Licence which carries a fine of $298
  • One ticket for Fail to Stop at Railway Crossing with Stop Sign which carries a fine of $298
  • One ticket for Operating a Motor Vehicle with Unsecure Load which carries a fine of $298

July 22nd, 2024

While on general patrol, police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle observed swerving on the road. While speaking with the driver police detected a strong odor of liquor and a demand was made to provide a breath sample on a Roadside Screening Device which resulted in a fail reading. The driver was issued a 90-day driving suspension along with a 30-day vehicle seizure and a $600 fine.

July 25th, 2024

Police were dispatched to the Colert Beach in regard to an assault. Police spoke to both involved parties who stated that there was an argument which resulted in the victim getting punched.  The victim declined pressing charges and the suspect received a banning notice.

While on general patrol, police observed a vehicle leaving a licensed establishment. Police conducted a sobriety check and observed the driver to be under the influence of alcohol. Police made a demand for the driver to provide a sample of their breath on the Roadside Screening device which resulted in a fail reading.  The driver was issued a 90-day driving suspension and a 30-day impoundment of the vehicle along with a $700 fine.    

July 27th, 2024

While on general patrol, police observed a vehicle swerving on the road and conducted a traffic stop to check the drivers sobriety. Police made a demand for the driver to provide a sample of their breath on the Roadside Screening device which resulted in a fail reading.  The driver was issued a 90-day driving suspension and a 30-day impoundment of the vehicle along with a $700 fine.
