August 10th, 2026 – August 17th, 2026

During this reporting period, MPS issued:

  • One ticket for As Driver of a Vehicle involved in an Accident Fail to give information to the other Driver involved which carries a fine of $203
  • Three tickets for Drive an Unregistered Vehicle which carries a fine of $298
  • One ticket for Drive While Disqualified which carries a fine of $672
  • One ticket for Drive Without Valid Driver’s Licence which carries a fine of $298
  • Two tickets for Speeding
  • One By-Law ticket for Parked Facing Oncoming Traffic which carries a fine of $100

August 11th, 2026

Police received a report of a hit and run to a vehicle that occurred on July 30th while parked on North Railway Street near the intersection of 7th Street.  The driver parked their 2008 green Toyota Highlander and noticed damage on the rear bumper the next day. 

August 13th, 2026

Police received a report of a break, enter and theft to a storage locker.  Police are continuing their investigation.

Police received a report that the caller’s credit card had been used fraudulently in several different provinces.  Police are continuing their investigation.

August 15th, 2026

At 1:08 am, police received a call requesting assistance from a male who was outside the Morden Fire Hall.  Police attended and spoke to the male who was intoxicated and had nowhere to go. The 27-year-old male was arrested under the Protective Detention and Care of Intoxicated Persons Act. He was released from cells once sober without charges.

At 9:30 pm, police were dispatched to a local business to speak to a male who wanted to confess to some traffic infractions.  Police located the male who was highly intoxicated and had also called for an ambulance.  EMS arrived on scene and cleared the male medically.  The 27-year-old male was arrested under the Protective Detention and Care of Intoxicated Persons Act. He was released from cells once sober without charges.

August 16th, 2026

While on general patrol, police conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle that was observed to be driving in a concerning manner. The driver of the vehicle advised police that he had one beer at the bar prior to being stopped by police.  Police made a demand for the driver to provide a sample of their breath on the Roadside Screening Device which resulted in a warn reading.  The driver was issued a 72-hour driving suspension and a 3-day impoundment of the vehicle along with a $400 administrative penalty.
