July 29th, 2024 – August 6th, 2024

During this reporting period, MPS issued:  

  • Two tickets for Speeding 
  • One By Law ticket for parking in a no parking zone which carries a fine of $150 
  • One ticket for Drive an Unregistered Vehicle which carries a fine of $298 

July 30th, 2024 

At 3:20 am, police were dispatched to a residence regarding a male who was intoxicated and was trying to get back into a residence he had been removed from.  Police attended and located an intoxicated male hiding in the basement who was arrested for Mischief and lodged in cells.  The male was released the next morning without charges. 

July 31st , 2024 

At 2:00 pm, police were dispatched to a residence regarding an intoxicated female who was causing a disturbance and needed to be removed.  Police attended and arrested the female under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act. She was lodged in cells until sober and released with no charges. 

At 6:45 pm, police were dispatched to a local establishment regarding a bicycle theft.  The caller advised that a female suspect stole the bike from in front of a business.  The suspect and bike were located by police and the bike was returned to its owner.  No charges were laid in this incident. 

Police were dispatched to a residence for a possible overdose.  Police and EMS attended and a female was transported to a healthcare facility for further treatment. 

August 1st, 2024 

Police received a report of a break and enter to a residence.  The caller advised that sometime overnight someone entered the residence and damaged several items and stole property. The investigation is ongoing. 

At 5:20 pm, police received a report of an intoxicated male at a local business.  Police attended and arrested the suspect under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act.  He was lodged in cells until sober and released without charges. 

August 2nd, 2024 

At 12:00 pm, police were dispatched to a residence for a possible overdose.  Police and EMS arrived on scene and a female was assessed and released, and a male was transported to a healthcare facility for further treatment. 

At 10:50 pm, police were dispatched to a local business regarding an assault and possible theft.  Police attended and learned that a female had assaulted the complainant when he confronted her about the theft.  The complainant did not wish to pursue charges, and the suspect was served a banning notice. 

August 4th, 2024 

At 12:20 am, police observed a vehicle travelling 100 km/hr in a 50 km/hr zone.  Police activated their emergency lights and attempted to stop the vehicle.  The vehicle continued to accelerate away from police and travelled several blocks before eventually pulling over.  The driver was arrested for Flight from Police and police located a canister of bear spray inside the vehicle.  The 28 year-old Winnipeg-resident was charged with Flight from Police, Possess Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose and three counts of Fail to Comply with a Release Order.  He was remanded into custody.
