During this reporting period, MPS issued:
– three tickets for Speeding
– two tickets for Drive an Unregistered Vehicle which carries a fine of $298
– one ticket for Drive Without a Valid Driver’s Licence which carries a fine of $298
February 19th, 2025
Police received a report of a theft of a package from outside a residence on Nelson Street. The caller advised that the package had only been sitting by their door for an hour when it was taken.
February 20th, 2025
At 2:10 pm, police received a report of a theft from a local restaurant. The caller advised that individuals left without paying for their bill.
At 6:20 pm, police were dispatched to a residence regarding an intoxicated female who had nowhere to stay. The 36-year-old female was arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and lodged in cells until sober. She was released without charges.
February 21st, 2025
At 4:20 pm, police were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision on North Railway Street. A male was standing at the rear of his vehicle when he was struck by an east bound vehicle. EMS arrived on scene and both the male, and the driver of the vehicle were uninjured. There was no damage to either vehicle.
February 22nd, 2025
While on general patrol, police observed a vehicle swerve within its lane several times. Police conducted a traffic stop and observed an odor of liquor coming from the driver and several empty beer cans in the back seat. Police made a demand for the driver to provide a sample of their breath on the Roadside Screening device which resulted in a fail reading. The driver was issued a 90-day driving suspension and a 30-day impoundment of the vehicle along with a $700 administrative penalty.

At 1:15 am, while on general patrol police conducted a traffic stop and observed an odor of liquor coming from the driver of the vehicle. Police made a demand for the driver to provide a sample of their breath on the Roadside Screening device which resulted in a fail reading. The driver was issued a 90-day driving suspension and a 30-day impoundment of the vehicle along with a $700 administrative penalty.
While on general patrol, police observed a vehicle travel in the oncoming lane for approximately half a block before pulling back into the correct lane. Police conducted a traffic stop and observed an odor of liquor coming from the driver. Police made a demand for the driver to provide a sample of their breath on the Roadside Screening device which resulted in a fail reading. The driver was issued a 90-day driving suspension and a 30-day impoundment of the vehicle along with a $700 administrative penalty.
