During this reporting period, MPS issued:

  • Ten tickets for Speeding
  • One ticket for Proceed Before Safe to do so which carries a fine of $174

May 27th, 2025

While on general patrol police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle known to be registered to a male who has a warrant from the RCMP.  This male was also involved in a motor vehicle accident in Morden on May 22nd where he advised police that he was the passenger in one of the vehicles involved.  It was later learned that he was driving the vehicle and is on conditions to have no contact with the female who was with him.  The 50-year-old male was arrested on the warrant and for Failing to Comply with his Undertaking.  He was released on an Appearance Notice to attend Morden Provincial Court in August.  He was also issued a ticket for Proceed before it is safe to do so which carries a fine of $174 and a ticket for make a false statement, namely as the driver of a motor vehicle involved in a motor vehicle collision, allow the passenger to claim they were the driver which carries a fine of $672.  The passenger in the vehicle was issued a ticket for make a false statement, namely as the passenger claim to be the driver of a vehicle involved in a motor vehicle collision which carries a fine of $672 and Fail to notify the Registrar of Change of address for Driver’s Licence within 15 days of change which carries a fine of $143

May 28th, 2025

At 10:45 pm, police were dispatched to a residence regarding an intoxicated male who was banging on the walls and yelling.  Police attended and arrested the 31-year-old male under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act.  He was lodged in cells and released when sober without charges.

May 29th, 2025

Police received a report that a youth had been riding her bike crossing 9th Street at Thornhill Street when she was struck by a vehicle.  The driver of the vehicle stopped to see if she was ok and then drove off without sharing any information.  The youth had minor injuries and her bike was damaged.

At 8:30 pm, police were dispatched to a local business regarding an intoxicated male and female bothering patrons, with the female flashing them.  Police located the couple nearby, and both were arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act.  They were both lodged in cells and released when sober without charges.

May 30th, 2025

At 3:00 am, police observed some ripped apart crossing flags from the pedestrian crosswalk on Mountain Street near Stephen Street.  Police also located a stop sign and street signs removed and laying on the ground.  There are no suspects at this time.

At 1:30 pm, police observed a male walking down the street carrying an open beer.  The 31-year-old male was intoxicated and argumentative with police.  He was arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and lodged in cells until he was sober.  He was released without charges.

June 1st, 2025

Police were dispatched to assist paramedics with a male who became aggressive with them.  Police attended and located the male who was highly intoxicated.  He was arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and lodged in cells until he was sober.  He was released without charges.
