During this reporting period, MPS issued:

  • Eighteen tickets for Speeding
  • Three tickets for Disobey a Traffic Control Device namely Stop Sign which carries a fine of $203
  • Five tickets for Improper Equipment namely side window tint which carries a fine of $174
  • Three tickets for Operate a Vehicle with Number Plate Obstructed which carries a fine of $203
  • One ticket for Drive Motor Vehicle without Wearing a Seatbelt which carries a fine of $298

June 4th, 2025

Police received a Warrant for Arrest for Jason Unrau for failing to attend court on June 3rd, 2025.

June 5th, 2025

At 2:35 am, police were dispatched to a residence regarding an intoxicated male and female who were causing a disturbance and had no place to stay.  Police attended and arrested the 31 year-old male and 54 year-old female under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act.  They were lodged in cells and released when sober without charges.

At 1:00 pm, police were dispatched to a residence regarding a fight.  Police attended and spoke to all parties involved including two females who were highly intoxicated and continued yelling and causing a disturbance.  Two adult females were arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and lodged in cells until sober.  They were released without charges.

Police received a report of a hit and run to a vehicle that occurred on May 23rd while parked near the intersection of Wardrop Street and 5th Street in Morden.  The driver parked her 2018 white Kia Sorrento and returned to find damage on the rear bumper. 

At 4:15 pm, police were dispatched to a residence regarding an assault.  Police attended and spoke to the victim who advised that he had been assaulted by his father.  The male was arrested for Assault and released on a Release Order.

June 7th, 2025

Police received a report of a hit and run that occurred in the McDonald’s drive thru.  The caller advised that she was hit from behind and the driver of the vehicle yelled at her and then drove off without exchanging particulars.  Police located the suspect vehicle and issued a caution for the hit and run.

June 10th, 2025

Police received a Warrant of Arrest for Sheldon Harper for Failing to Comply with Probation Order on June 5th, 2025.

June 11th, 2025

Police received a call requesting police assistance with a female who was threatening to harm herself.  Police attended and spoke to the female who was subsequently transported by EMS to a healthcare facility for an assessment.

At 7:00 am, police were dispatched to the intersection of Thornhill Street and Mountain Street regarding a male who was running in and out of traffic.  Police located the male who was sober and just acting up.  Police received a second call with the same male who was acting erratically and throwing rocks.  Police located the male and sent him on his way.

Police received a call to conduct a wellbeing check on a female.  The female was located and was extremely intoxicated with no place to stay.  The 25-year-old female was arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act.  She was lodged in cells and released when sober without charges.

June 12th, 2025

Police received a report of a theft of licence plates from a vehicle parked in a parking lot at the intersection of 5th Street and Stephen Street.  There are no suspects at this time.

At 2:50 pm, police received a report of a theft of tools from a business which was caught on camera.  Police attended and observed the suspect who was known to police.  The suspect was cautioned on Theft and Break and Enter and returned all the items to the business.  No charges were laid as a result of this incident.

June 13th, 2025

Police received a report of a sexual assault which occurred on June 11th.  Police are continuing their investigation.

At 7:15 pm, police received a report of an intoxicated male who was trying to stop traffic at the intersection of 8th Street and Stephen Street.  The 31-year-old male was arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act.  He was lodged in cells and released when sober without charges.

While on general patrol, police conducted a traffic stop and detected an odor of liquor coming from the vehicle.  Police observed an open case of beer in the backseat with beer spilling out of it.  Police made a demand for the driver to provide a sample of their breath on the Roadside Screening device which resulted in a warn reading.  The driver was issued a 72-hour driving suspension and a 3-day impoundment of the vehicle along with a $400 administrative penalty.  The driver was also issued a ticket for Unlawful Transportation of Liquor in a Vehicle which carries a fine of $237.
