March 2nd, 2026 – March 16th, 2026

During this reporting period, MPS issued:

  • Fourteen tickets for Speeding
  • Four By-Law tickets for Parked Contrary to Signage which carries a fine of $100
  • Three tickets for Disobey a traffic control device namely Stop Sign which carries a fine of $203

March 5th, 2026

At 2:30 pm, police were dispatched to a local business for a report of theft. The suspects were gone upon arrival, and police are continuing their investigation.

Police were dispatched to a two-vehicle accident. Police arrived on scene along with EMS and Morden Fire and Rescue. The accident was the result of one driver failing to stop at a stop sign, causing the second vehicle which had the right of way to collide with the first. Both drivers were transported to the local hospital with minor injuries, and the vehicles were towed from the scene.

At 6:00 pm, police were dispatched to a 2-vehicle collision at 9th Street and Thornhill Street. The accident was the result of a driver not seeing a second vehicle coming down the road, resulting in a collision. No injuries were reported, and both vehicles were towed from the scene.

March 6th, 2026

At 5:00 pm, police were dispatched to a local business for a report of two youths breaking into a shed. Police arrived on scene and located the youths. While speaking with them, police observed a pellet gun in one of the youths’ waistband. The youth was arrested for possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and referred to alternative measures.

March 7th, 2026

At 2:45 am police attended a local establishment for a report of people fighting. A 27-year-old male of Dawson Bay was arrested for assault. The two victims in this incident declined to press charges, and alcohol was a factor. The 27-year-old male was held in custody until sober and released the next morning without charges.

March 9th, 2026

At 9:45 am police received a report from a local business doing work on Stephen Street that a vehicle had driven by them narrowly striking an employee and knocking over several traffic cones. Police located the driver and they were ticketed. Police want to remind drivers that they need to be observant of workers and traffic safety cones as it keeps workers and drivers safer.

March 12th, 2026

At 3:30 pm, police were dispatched to the intersection of Thornhill and 3rd Street for a two-motor vehicle collision. The accident was the result of a vehicle crossing Thornhill Street and not allowing sufficient space for Thornhill travelling vehicles. Morden Fire and Rescue also attended along with EMS; one driver was transported to the local hospital, and both vehicles were towed from the scene. While emergency services were on scene, an additional accident occurred because of limited lane access, pedestrian traffic, and weather conditions. Police would like to remind everyone that during inclement weather the public needs to slow down further and be aware of their surroundings, which includes emergency services and any pedestrians in the area.
