During this reporting period, MPS issued:
– Twelve tickets for Speeding
– One ticket for Speeding (162 km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone) and a Serious Offence Notice which carries a fine of $862
– One ticket for Speeding (130 km/hr in a 70 km/hr zone) and a Serious Offence Notice which carries a fine of $835
– One ticket for Drive without holding a Valid Driver’s Licence which carries a fine of $298
– One ticket for Drive an Unregistered Vehicle which carries a fine of $298
– Two tickets for Disobey Traffic Control Device namely Stop Sign which carries a fine of $203
– One By-Law ticket for Parked Facing Oncoming Traffic which carries a fine of $100
– One By-Law ticket for Parked Motorhome for more than one hour on City Street which carries a fine of $100
June 9th, 2026
At 1:30 pm, police were dispatched to a local school regarding a female trespassing on the property. Police attended and advised the female that she needed to leave and stay off the property.
June 10th, 2026
Police received a report of a scam phone call. The victim advised that they had provided approximately $300 in Apple gift cards to the caller after being promised a large cash prize. Police confirmed this was a scam and that they needed to stop all contact with these callers.
June 15th, 2026
Police have received several complaints about an erratic driver on a personal electric vehicle. Police are continuing their investigation.
At 6:45 pm, police observed a male and female at a local business who were known to be on conditions to have no contact with each other. They were both arrested for Failing to Comply with their Undertaking. The male suspect was found to be in possession of Methamphetamine and was also charged for Possession of the Purpose of Trafficking. Both the male and female were remanded into custody.
June 16th, 2026
Police received a complaint from one of the schools that a coyote has been hanging around the field outside the school yard. Police attended and were unable to locate the coyote. Manitoba Conservation will be following up with the school.
Police received two reports of separate scam phone calls where both victims provided Apple gift cards to the caller. One person bought approximately $8000 in gift cards and the other person $450-$600. In both cases police advised the victims that this was a scam.
June 17th, 2026
While on general patrol, police conducted a traffic stop and observed open liquor in the backseat of the vehicle. Police made a demand for the driver to provide a sample of their breath on the Roadside Screening device which resulted in a fail reading. The driver was issued a 90 day driving suspension and a 30 day impoundment of the vehicle along with a $700 administrative penalty.
June 18th, 2026
Police received a Warrant of Arrest for Sheldon Vincent Russel Harper for failing to comply with his probation order.
At 6:40 pm, police received a report of two intoxicated males on the golf course. Police attended and one of the males was laying on the ground unable to move. He was subsequently transported by EMS to the hospital.
June 19th, 2026
Police received a report of a theft of an orange Hyper mountain bike that was stolen overnight on June 7th from around the Morden Collegiate.
