Police make arrests in Break and Enter Investigations
In August of 2021 the Morden Police Service received several reports of Break, Enter and Thefts to businesses and a residence. Through a subsequent investigation police were able to identify two suspects they believed were responsible.
On August 6th, 2021 members of the Morden Police Service executed a Search Warrant on a residence in the City of Morden. During the search, police located the items they were looking for along with other stolen property. Neither of the suspects were located at the time of the Search Warrant and police obtained Warrants for their arrest. Both suspects were later arrested by police.
As a result of this investigation, 18-year-old, Devon Morgan of Morden has been charged with Break, Enter and Theft, 3 counts of Possession of Property obtained by Crime, and 3 counts of Fail to comply with an Undertaking. Morgan was remanded into custody and later released on a Release Order in the amount $1000 to appear in Morden Provincial Court in October.
Also, a 16-year-old male youth from Winnipeg has been charged with Break, Enter and Theft and 3 counts of Possession of Property obtained by Crime. He was released on an undertaking to appear in Morden Provincial Court in October.
Since their arrests, both individuals have been re-arrested for failing to comply with their conditions and further charges are pending.
