February 10th, 2025
Police received a report of a theft of a tv from a residence on Wardrop Street. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact MPS.
February 12th, 2025
At 1:45 am, police were dispatched to a residence regarding an intoxicated female. The caller advised that the female showed up at her door with nowhere to stay. The 36-year-old female was arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and lodged in cells until sober. She was released without charges.
February 13th, 2025
MPS received a complaint of an attempted fraud involving a local pharmacy. The scammer requested credit card information to fulfil a prescription, and when questioned further by the complainant the scammer advised the prescription was issued by a local Doctor. The local Doctor and Pharmacy were not involved in the attempted fraud, but it is a good reminder that information easily accessible on the internet can be used against potential victim’s to make the scam more believable. Police would like to remind people that providing credit card information over the phone should only be done when making a purchase from a reputable company you trust and you have initiated the transaction.
Police received a report of a male at a licensed establishment with knives on his belt. Police attended and spoke to the male who agreed to remove the knives from the business.
At 11:30 pm, police received a report of a male who was out past their court-imposed curfew. Police attended the male’s residence and observed him returning home in a vehicle. He was arrested for one count of Fail to Comply with Release Order and was remanded into custody.
Police received a warrant for a 34-year old female for failing to attend court. She was arrested on the strength of the warrant and was remanded into custody.
February 14th, 2025
At 12:00pm, police were dispatched to a local business for a report of a smashed car window. Police are continuing their investigation.
At 11:45pm, while on general patrol police observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed. Police conducted a traffic stop and detected the smell of liquor coming from the driver. The driver was given the demand to provide a breath sample on the roadside screening device which resulted in a warn reading. The driver was issued a 72-hour driving suspension and a 3-day impoundment of the vehicle along with a $400 fine.
February 16th, 2025
While on general patrol, police conducted a traffic stop and detected an odor of liquor coming from the driver. Police made a demand for the driver to provide a sample of their breath on the Roadside Screening device which resulted in a warn reading. The driver was issued a 72-hour driving suspension and a 3-day impoundment of the vehicle along with a $400 fine.
At 2:30am, while on general patrol police observed a vehicle swerving between lanes. Police conducted a traffic stop and made a demand for the driver to provide a sample of their breath on the Roadside Screening Device which resulted in a fail reading. The driver was issued a 90-day driving suspension and a 30-day impoundment of the vehicle along with a $700 fine.
