January 24th, 2022 – January 31st, 2022 

During this reporting period, MPS issued:

  • One ticket for Drive an Unregistered Vehicle which carries a fine of $298
  • One ticket for Unlawful Transportation of Liquor in Motor Vehicle which carries a fine of $237

January 25th, 2022

At 11:30 am, police received a report of a theft of gas.  The caller advised his vehicle was parked at a business in the 200 block of Cochlan Drive from 11:30 pm on January 24th to 5:00 am on January 25th.  When he returned to his vehicle he noticed that half a tank of gas was missing.

January 26th, 2022

Police received a report of a fraud.  The caller advised he sent a sum of money to a company to have some work done but has never received his product and is unable to get his money back.  Police are continuing their investigation.

January 27th, 2022

At 12:00 pm, police received a call from an extremely intoxicated female who was at a local business.  Police attended and the 26 year old female was arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and lodged in cells until sober.  She was released without charges.

At 12:40 pm, police received a request to conduct a well being check on a female who had not shown up at work and the caller was unable to reach her.  Police attended the female’s residence and she was home and fine.

Police received a report of a motor vehicle accident at the corner of 7th Street and Stephen Street.  A grey Chrysler was travelling southbound on 7th Street and failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection with Stephen Street. A black Lexus was travelling eastbound on Stephen Street when the Chrysler hit this vehicle causing it to hit a building.  Morden Fire and EMS were also on scene.  No one was injured and both vehicles were towed from the accident.

At 10:00 pm, police received a request to conduct a well being check on a male who was making suicidal comments.  Police attended his residence and spoke to the male who advised that it was a misunderstanding and that he had no intentions of harming himself.

January 28th, 2022

While on general patrol, police conducted a traffic stop and observed open liquor in the back seat of the vehicle.  Police made a demand for the driver to provide a sample of their breath on the Roadside Screening Device which resulted in a warn reading.  The driver was issued a 72 hour driving suspension and a 3 day impoundment of the vehicle along with a $400 administrative penalty. 

January 29th, 2022

At 2:20 am, police were dispatched to a residence regarding two intoxicated guests who were causing a disturbance.  Police attended and one of the guests had left and police were unable to locate him.  The second guest, a 51 year old female, was arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and lodged in cells until sober.  She was released without charges.

At 4:20 pm, police received a request to conduct a well being check on a male who was threatening to harm himself.  Police attended and spoke to the male and it was determined that he was fine.

While on general patrol, police observed a highly intoxicated male stumbling down Stephen Street.  Police spoke to the male who was having trouble standing and was unsure of where he was staying.  The 59 year old male was arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and lodged in cells until sober.  He was released without charges.

At 9:50 pm, police were dispatched to a residence regarding an intoxicated female who was causing a disturbance.  Police attended and spoke to the caller who wanted the female removed from her residence.  The 51 year old female was intoxicated and had no where to stay.  She was arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and lodged in cells until sober.  She was released without charges.

January 30th, 2022

At 11:00 am, police received a request to conduct a well being check on a male who had sent concerning texts to the caller.  Police attended and spoke to the male who was fine.
