During this reporting period, MPS issued:
– Seventeen tickets for Speeding
– One ticket for Fail to Produce Licence which carries a fine of $113
– One ticket for Drive with Invalid Licence which carries a fine of $298
– One ticket for Possess not Manitoba Marked Tobacco which carries a fine of $2542
– One ticket for Drive an Unregistered Vehicle which carries a fine of $298
– One ticket for Disobey Traffic Control Device namely Stop Sign which carries a fine of $203
– One ticket for Drive Imprudently which carries a fine of $203
March 6th, 2025
Police were dispatched to a 2-motor vehicle collision. Police arrived on scene along with EMS. There were no injuries reported and neither of the vehicles were able to drive. Police cleared.
March 8th, 2025
At 1:00 am, while on general patrol police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was weaving in and out of its lane. Police made a demand for the driver to provide a sample of their breath on the Roadside Screening device which resulted in a warn reading. The driver was issued a 72-hour driving suspension and a 3-day impoundment of the vehicle along with a $400 administrative penalty.
Police were dispatched to a local business for a report of an intoxicated male causing a disturbance. Police arrived and found the 41-year-old male, he was arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and released without charges once sober.
At 9:00 am, police were dispatched to a local business for a report of a male causing a disturbance. Police arrived and confirmed the male had a warrant for his arrest. The male was arrested on the strength of that warrant and along with additional charges of Failing to Comply with Undertaking. The male was released on an Appearance Notice to attend Morden Provincial Court in June.
March 9th, 2025
While on general patrol, police observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed and conducted a traffic stop. Police observed open liquor in the vehicle and the smell of liquor coming from the driver, a demand was made for the driver to provide a sample of their breath on a Roadside Screening Device which resulted in a fail reading. The driver was issued a 90-day driving suspension and a 30-day impoundment of the vehicle along with a $700 administration penalty.
March 10th, 2025
At 1:30 am, police were dispatched to a local residence for a report of an assault in progress. Police arrived on scene and arrested a 40-year-old male and released him on an Undertaking to attend Morden Provincial Court in May.
