During this reporting period, MPS:

During this reporting period, MPS issued:

  • One ticket for Speeding (92 km/hr in a 70 km/hr zone) which carries a fine of $338
  • One ticket for Speeding (89 km/hr in a 70 km/hr zone) which carries a fine of $299
  • One ticket for Speeding (98 km/hr in a 70 km/hr zone) which carries a fine of $416
  • One ticket for Speeding (124 km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone) which carries a fine of $364
  • One ticket for Speeding (65 km/hr in a 50 km/hr zone) which carry fines of $246
  • One ticket for Speeding (74 km/hr in a 50 km/hr zone) which carry fines of $364
  • One ticket for Speeding (73 km/hr in a 50 km/hr zone) which carry fines of $351
  • One ticket for Drive While Disqualified which carries a fine of $672 and a 30-day vehicle impound
  • One ticket for As a Novice Driver in the Intermediate Stage, Operate a Vehicle between Midnight and 5 AM with more than one Passenger with no Supervising Driver which carries a fine of $203
  • One ticket for Improper Equipment namely improper side window tinting which carries a fine of $174
  • One ticket for Fail to Notify Register of Change of Address for Driver’s Licence within 15 days which carries a fine of $143
  • Seven tickets for Passing an Emergency Vehicle Engaged in Prescribed Activity While Using Emergency Equipment, Fail to Comply with Speed Requirements which carries a fine of $298
  • Two tickets for Passing an Emergency Vehicle Engaged in Prescribed Activity While Using Emergency Equipment, Fail to Move into a Farther Lane which carries a fine of $298
  • One ticket for Disobey a Traffic Control Device namely a Red Light which carries a fine of $203
  • One ticket for Drive an Unregistered Vehicle which carries a fine of $298

November 2nd, 2021

At 11:30 am, police received a call requesting a well being check be conducted on a male who had been drinking. Police attended and spoke with the male who was intoxicated but healthy and in good spirits.

At 3:50 pm, police were dispatched to a residence for a possible overdose. Police and EMS arrived on scene and the individual was subsequently transported to a medical healthcare facility for treatment.

At 10:15 pm, police received a complaint of a vehicle swerving on the road, hitting the ditch and then driving away. Police located the vehicle and the driver was issued a verbal warning about his driving habits.

November 4th, 2021

Police received a report of a bike stolen from the bike racks at a local school. The bike was parked at the racks on November 3rd from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.  Police are continuing their investigation.

Police received a call to attend to a local business to assist Public Health Officers.  Police attended and assisted Public Health with the situation.

Police received a call from an individual stating that he sold a cell phone over Facebook Marketplace. The suspect sent money through Paypal and sent a verification code to the caller. The caller shipped the phone to the suspect and was notified shortly after that the verification code did not exist.  The caller attempted to cancel the shipment through the shipping company but it was too late.

At 7:50 pm, while on an unrelated traffic stop, police observed a vehicle travelling at a fast rate of speed.  Police conducted a traffic stop and detected a strong odor of liquor coming from the driver.  Police observed beer cans on the floor in the backseat of the vehicle and made a demand for the  driver to provide a sample of their breath on the Roadside Screening Device which resulted in a fail reading. The driver was issued a 90 day driving suspension and a 30 day impoundment of the vehicle along with a $700 administrative penalty.  The driver was issued a ticket for Passing an Emergency Vehicle Engaged in Prescribed Activity While Using Emergency Equipment, Fail to Comply with Speed Requirements which carries a fine of $298.  The driver was also issued a ticket for Unlawful Transportation of Liquor in a Motor Vehicle which carries a fine of $237.

November 5th, 2021

While on general patrol, police conducted a traffic stop and detected an odor of liquor coming from the driver.  Police made a demand for the driver to provide a sample of their breath on the Roadside Screening device which resulted in a warn reading.  The driver was issued a 15 day driving suspension and a 3 day impoundment of the vehicle along with a $500 administrative penalty. 

At 9:25 am, police received a report of an investment fraud.  The individual reported that he invested a large sum of money with a company called WOBIT.  Approximately one month ago the individual attempted to go on to the companies website at which time he noted the website had been taken down and he realized the company was not legit.  This matter has also been reported to the Canadian Anti Fraud Centre.

November 6th, 2021

At 12:05 am, police were on general patrol when they observed a vehicle with a burnt out headlight.  Police conducted a traffic stop and observed open cans of alcohol beside the driver and several cans in the backseat on the floor.  Police made a demand for the driver to provide a sample of their breath on the Roadside Screening device which resulted in a fail reading.  The driver was issued a 90 day driving suspension and a 30 day impoundment of the vehicle along with a $700 administrative penalty.  The driver was issued a ticket for As a Novice Driver, Operate a Motor Vehicle while having alcohol in the blood which carries a fine of $113.  The driver was also issued a ticket for Unlawful Transportation of Liquor in a Motor Vehicle which carries a fine of $237.

At 1:05 am, police were dispatched to a residence regarding a noise complaint.  Police attended and spoke to the resident who agreed to turn the music down.

At 1:35 am, while on general patrol police observed a vehicle stopped at a stop sign for a long period of time before making a wide turn onto Thornhill Street.  Police activated their emergency lights and subsequently pulled the vehicle over.  The driver advised he had a drink of alcohol that evening and police made a demand for the driver to provide a sample of their breath on the Roadside Screening device which resulted in a fail reading.  The driver was issued a 90 day driving suspension and a 30 day impoundment of the vehicle along with a $700 administrative penalty.  The driver was issued a ticket for Drive while Disqualified which carries a fine of $672. 

November 7th, 2021

At 12:15am, police were dispatched to a residence regarding a female who was threatening to harm herself.  Police attended and spoke to the female who was subsequently transported to a healthcare facility for an assessment.

At 2:40 pm, police received a call regarding an unwelcome male at a residence.  Police attended and spoke to the caller who advised the male had left the residence but had taken a laptop which did not belong to him.  Police located the male and returned the laptop to its owner.  No charges were laid in this incident.
