August 12th, 2024 – August 19th, 2024

During this reporting period, MPS issued:  

  • One ticket for Disobey Traffic Control Device namely Red Light which carries a fine of $203  
  • One ticket for Drive an Unregistered Vehicle which carries a fine of $298 
  • One ticket for Fail to Display the Correct Number Plate which carries a fine of $113 

August 12th, 2024 

At 10:45 am, police were dispatched to a residence regarding a male attempting to break into the residence.  Police attended and the male was observed holding a metal rod in his hand and yelling towards the house.  The male then began walking towards police holding the metal rod in an aggressive manner.  The male was safely taken into custody and arrested for Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose.  A knife was located on the male and he also charged with Fail to Comply with a Release Order.  He was remanded into custody. 

August 14th, 2024 

At 11:35 am, police observed a male who was known to be on conditions to comply with an absolute curfew.  The male was also found to be in possession of a cell phone which he was not allowed possess.  He was arrested for Failing to Comply with his Release Order and remanded into custody. 

August 16th, 2024 

At 6:20 pm, police were dispatched to a single vehicle motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Mountain Street South and Progressive Road.  Police observed a vehicle in the ditch and spoke to the driver who was not injured.  Police observed an odor of liquor coming from the driver.  Police made a demand for the driver to provide a sample of their breath on the Roadside Screening device which resulted in a fail reading.  The driver was issued a 90-day driving suspension and a 30-day vehicle impound along with a $700 fine.   

While on general patrol, police located a suspicious vehicle parked in a parking lot of a local business.  Upon further investigation, police believed the vehicle to be stolen and located the vehicle occupants nearby. Police located Methamphetamine inside the vehicle, and a 28 year-old male and 27 year-old female were both arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance and released on Undertakings to attend Morden Provincial Court in October.
