During this reporting period, MPS:

  • One ticket for Speeding (49 km/hr in a 30 km/hr zone) which carries a fine of $299
  • One ticket for Speeding (55 km/hr in a 30 km/hr zone) which carries a fine of $378
  • One ticket for Speeding (53 km/hr in a 30 km/hr zone) which carries a fine of $351
  • One ticket for Speeding (77 km/hr in a 50 km/hr zone) which carries a fine of $403
  • One ticket for Speeding (73 km/hr in a 50 km/hr zone) which carries a fine of $351
  • One ticket for Speeding (69 km/hr in a 50 km/hr zone) which carries a fine of $299
  • One ticket for Operate a Motor Vehicle with an Obstructed Number Plate which carries a fine of $203
  • Two tickets for Drive an Unregistered Vehicle which carries a fine of $298
  • One ticket for Drive Imprudently which carries a fine of $203
  • One ticket for Fail to Display Front Licence Plate which carries a fine of $113
  • Two tickets for Drive Without a valid Driver’s Licence which carries a fine of $298
  • Five tickets for Passing an Emergency Vehicle Engaged in Prescribed Activity While Using Emergency Equipment, Fail to Comply with Speed Requirements which carries a fine of $298
  • One ticket for Passing an Emergency Vehicle Engaged in Prescribed Activity While Using Emergency Equipment, Fail to Move into a Farther Lane which carries a fine of $298
  • One ticket for Use Cellular Telephone or Other Hand Operated Electronic Device While Driving which carries a fine of $672 and a three-day license suspension

November 30th, 2021

At 4:20 pm, police received a call from Winnipeg Flight Planning requesting assistance in locating an airplane that was scheduled to leave Morden airport an hour ago.  Police attended and located the pilot who was waiting for fuel and had spoken to Winnipeg Flight Planning to advise of the change in his plans.

December 2nd, 2021

At 12:05 am, police were dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of 7th Street regarding a break and enter.  The caller advised that he observed the doors on his shed were open and one of the latches was broken.  Nothing was missing from inside the shed.

At 12:05 am, while police were on an unrelated call, police observed the man door of the garage was open at a residence on Dunsford Street.  The vehicle doors inside the garage were open and the shed doors were also open.  The homeowner advised they were missing two scooters from inside the garage.  Police located two youths with one of the stolen scooters.  The second scooter was turned over to police and both scooters were returned to their owner.  No charges were laid as a result of this incident.

At 12:25 am, while on general patrol, police observed the front door open at a residence in the 300 block of 6th Street.  Police were aware that this residence was empty.  Police noted heavy damage throughout the residence and spoke to the homeowner who attended to secure the residence.

At 12:50 pm, police received a report of a scam where the caller was looking to sell property that was out of the country.  The caller ended up sending a large sum of money to a real estate agency and later realized it was a scam.  Police are continuing their investigation.

At 3:30 pm, police were received a call regarding a Mischief to a shed in the 200 block of 6th Street.  The caller advised that someone had taken her shed doors off their hinges, but nothing was taken.

December 3rd, 2021

At 6:20 pm, police received a call regarding a neighbor partially blocking the callers’ driveway with a log.  The caller attempted to move the log and the neighbor started yelling at him.  Police attended and mediated the situation.

December 5th, 2021

At 3:50 am, while on general patrol, police observed a vehicle travelling with no taillights.  Police conducted a traffic stop and detected an odor of liquor coming from the driver.  Police made a demand for the driver to provide a sample of their breath on the Roadside Screening device which resulted in a warn reading.  The driver was issued a 72 hour driving suspension and a 3 day impoundment of the vehicle along with a $400 administrative penalty. 

Police received a call reporting a group of kids in a parking lot doing donuts and pulling a sled behind a car.  Police attended and spoke to the driver who was cautioned and advised to leave the area.  No charges were laid as a result of this incident.
